cancelled because his show was embraced by Sup Forums and some of them targeted tim and sent death threats.

Tim got tired of death threats and bitched at adult swim, telling them about how the alt right was a major portion of his show and the damage it could cause.

Adult swim cancelled his show in worry that it would hit their brand.

That's pretty much it, Sam is super aware of Sup Forums and is trying to also use it for publicity but seems to not understand how bad of an idea that is.

and no the show was in no way some epic meta joke. sam very much wanted to get a show on adult swim. he was attempting to do so for years before he actually succeeded. this was something he genuinely aspired to and he squandered it.
