"I mean... like everyone knows this album!! Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, I don't really have a favorite song but it's just like one of those albums that like, everyone needs to own you know?"

queen - best of greatest hits [2014 remaster] part 3

>visit used discs store which also sells record players
>see old couple trying to buy a crosley player
>staff says they don't have any
>"Why not? They're popular players!"
>staff tries to explain they're objectively shitty players that will ruin your records and recommends better cheaper options
>"AAAAA THIS IS A GIFT FOR MY DAUGHTER I WANT MUH CROSLEY"
>wife tries to calm him down: "Harold, don't make a scene!"
>staff says they just don't have any and asks him to leave
>he calls the staff fucking snobs and topples over a DVD rack
>mfw the dvd rack fell on a child and cut her fucking face open
>mfw the couple ran away and drove off but they got his license plate number
>mfw they called the police and the old man surely got fucking arrested

man that pic is making me depressed

"I like, love Jazz.. you guy's don't even know! this album means so much to me! like, if you don't like Frank Sinatra like [Ukulele music stops and camera zooms in on her face] how can you even like music?"

wait wait wait

it's one of my favorite shirt brands (bought like four of them from UO already), but never knew it came from an album. is it old?

#mindblown

The reddit spacing made this post even better

Is Crosley-core the music equivalent of the be an individual retweet gif?

now that you mention it it's pretty obvious the logo/cover was inspired by the rainbow triangle from /r/lgbt/ and that just made it 10times more awesome

#safespace #urbanoutfitters #pinkfloyd

im not sure if i want to believe this or not

so woke even in 60' And they say socialist were hunted down! Go-go proletarians! Pink Floyd is my favorite band from now on!

why do people hate crosleys so much. the only records people buy for them are mass produced urban otufitters shit. who cares if they get ruined or sound terrible

Because eventually they'll break, or ruin someone's favorite record. Most of these kids would rather give-up the hobby because it would be stupid in their eyes.
Why would they want to invest more money into a hobby that just ruined their new splatter colored deluxe limited pressing

well that's the point. they're cheap. it's just a bit of fun for kids. this is adult men laughing at 14 year old girls for not investing lots of money in an expensive hobby

It's not so much that. Threads like this are just a bit of fun, poking fun at the VNYL Girl YouTubers who all have the same taste, same turntable, speak the same and act the same. It's actually kind of scary when you watch them, just how much groupthink is going on.
Also it's hardly a lot of money, to buy a Sony turntable or an Audio Technica turntable. But there is literally no reason to buy a Crosley. Not to mention how cancer they are for this industry, Vinyl has seen a resurgence in a way that no one anticipated. Kids and teenagers are getting into records again but they are being subject to these low-end, cheap and terrible turntables that will chew up their fancy $30 new records. Most of these people will sit back and think "this is a stupid hobby why did I bother getting into this"

>Most of these people will sit back and think "this is a stupid hobby why did I bother getting into this"
and it is a very stupid hobby for a kid with no real income

Fleetwood Mac. Easy.

Not really though, it's not hard to walk into a record store and leave with like 5 records for how much you could have paid for a new record.
I'm sure through inflation you'd see that it was equally as stupid for kids with no real income back in the 70s as it is now, if not more so... But those kids didn't have their records destroyed by shit plastic briefcases did they?

You can hit up thrift stores/yard sales and come away with a better setup than a Crosley for a similar price.

Nah this is a great album. They would have a greatest hits compilation

i threw this one together and i think its pretty accurate

Post audio technica core

it's expensive and/or time consuming to get a decent setup that's actually worth listening to over digital music

the point is they don't really care, they're mostly to look at and take instagram pictures of. they are not discerning listeners, sound quality means nothing to them and not a thought is put into researching before buying because they don't really care. it's literally just kids who'd otherwise be listening to spotify playlists on laptop speakers

Needs more token classic albums and greatest hits, get some Pink Floyd, Abba and some Beatles in there.
Also some soundtracks to [Tumblr girl flick or Disney movie]

The beatles abbey road

only slightly less shit

that’s my point
So autechre

Prince
Mahavishnu Orchestra
Cheap rock records
Radiohead

...

youtube.com/watch?v=QcLexiCr4Ho

oh boy, here we go.

and then the vinyls clapped

having worked in a record shop i can actually fucking believe this

already see it all just from the thumbnail

That is the set up of all set ups

everyone owns these regardless

I don't think they reflect what crosleycore is

>[Ukulele music stops and camera zooms in on her face]

I feel like I've seen this hundreds of times

...

An Audio Technica LP60 is just a bit more expensive than a crosley.

You'd be surprised how many college girls buy this shit.

>All tumblr-core
They deserve to get they're records warped

>They're
Fuc me

this

if she was talking about different albums you'd be tryna suck her dick for being patrich, it's just a matter of taste.

Surprised nobody posted this.
This is THE 'everyone talks about it so I better get it' album.

yeah and she has shit taste

>implying crosley owners went on frank's website on black friday 2016 to buy this instead of going to best buy to try and find a new cartridge for cheap

you have shit taste :^)

SHE WAS A MEDITATIVE FUCKER ALL STRUNG OUT ON SINATRA

The soundtrack to Drive and/or Stranger Things, half a dozen new reissues of older albums bought on Amazon, and a handful of soundtrack albums bought at the local Goodwill

>Gets record collection
>Buys nothing but new stuff

Isn't half the point of collecting discovering weird older shit you wouldn't have found otherwise? That's how I do it.

no, it's about buying stuff from urban outfitters and posting pictures of the sleeves as they're on display inside your crosley's top

HITTING VAN WINKLE LIKE THERE AINT NO TOMORRA

youtube.com/watch?v=ZwEfBUE2EsM

ooh shit, destroyed

I do not own a single Beatles album because I am not a fucking pleb listening to a boyband from the 60's.

that's like not owning The Downward Spiral because you thought Purest Feeling was gay af new wave

No, I do not own The Downward Spiral because it is a shitty record. Same goes for the Beatles.

...

>ITT:assblasted audiofools who are mad because nobody 'liked' their Instagram post showing a TMR record they spend two-hundred dollarydoos on

Give me one reason it is worth listening to it. Be it the Beatles or Downward Spiral.

Anyone who spent $200 on one record is just as much of an idiot as a crosley buyer

well-crafted music providing a memorable experience with layered songs that ooze with atmosphere, are catchy enough to be instantly enjoyable, yet also reward repeated listens that allow you to discover the less obvious things going on in the soundscape.

(TDS and psychedelic-era Beatles only, none of this is true of the boyband years)

If the Beatles' music doesn't speak for itself for you then you're a textbook philistine i.e. Total Pleb.

the TMR user is referring to is a double so you're really paying $100 per record

Madvillainy
ITAOTS
Anything by any obscure band

people collect for different reasons, and i dont think the one you stated is even close to being the main one honestly

It's just crazy how I don't even recognize most of the albums in that image. This is what we must seem like to normies. Idk why they think we're weird/try hard for liking different music though. I am who I am and I like what I like just deal with it.

I'm not but I tried to do something based on what I've seen on the collection of AT owners.
It's basically Sup Forums-core shit

they put new releases out on vinyl too lad

Right but I'm talking about buying NOTHING BUT new releases. I get buying a couple for ones you really like.

Newest album I have is from 07.

Replace the Lorde record with a Panic! one and this is stellar.

you could argue that albums that are recorded digitally won't sound too different on analogue. that said, I'd still get new records on vinyl anyway

pt.2
>suddenly realize i have super strength and speed and chase after car
>catch up to it in a matter of seconds at a red light
>mfw i pry the door right off the old rust bucket
>pull harold from the car and wrap his body like a salty pretzel
>proceed to launch harold into the stratosphere with my super strength
>turns out he had been terrorizing the city and i just happened to answer the call for a hero
>mayor gives me key to the city
>mfw when all of this definitely happened

t.Lorde superfan

amazing album.
sue me.

I'm sorry. I won't let amazing music get categorized as the anthems for psuedo-tumblr kids who were too late to experience an era.

>want to get into vinyl
>know i'm too late for it and every record store/thrift shop has been cleaned of anything good and cheap by now
now to wait until it dies again

bUmp

Vinyls of new albums are usually around $15-$20, if you can't afford that you're just a poorfag.

I personally like to collect things I know and like. I like keeping a catalog of things I like, not new stuff I have no idea is good.

Yeah, this is a pretty good album.

I saw this at my local record shop on the day after black friday and ignored it because it was $38 and I didn't know it was actually a RSD release.
Shit's selling for $200 now, i could have made a killing.

You are like a little baby
Watch this

kind of a cool idea ngl

>know i'm too late for it
Oh, you just know that? Without even going to a record store and finding that out for yourself?

I mean

I'm gonna clue you into something my mans: people die all the fucking time. And, if you can believe this, their collections often get sold to record stores at estate sales or just given to thrift shops. And furthermore, people who collect vinyl fall on hard times like anyone else and need to sell their shit off to make ends meet. There are always records to be had. If you ever travel, go to a new shop in a new town and you'll encounter entire collections you've never seen before. Don't be a moron.

In many cases, when you really start collecting, new material can be cheaper. Sure, I would like to have an original pressing in great condition of the Ape of Naples, but I don't have 300$ spare cash. I do have 30$ for when it becomes reissued however.

>suf-JAN stevens
>carrie & lowell the only good album
>not my type

What a garbage retard pleb

This is just a list of artists who flopped in 2017.

>Art Hoe core

>Go to comment section
>First comment is literally fucking "I'M YODELING YOU'RE BACK JSJXJX"

While it's really hard to find shit like Beatles and Pink Floyd cheap and in good conditions nowadays, you can still find plenty of other good stuff around. Go to thrift stores and record fairs.

Confession: I have only listened to Go Your Own Way

I wasn't talking OG pressings I was talking super cheap thrift-store shit, my man.

My dad's first record player after 30 years was an all-in-one retroshit. Took some convincing for him to get a decent turntable

Crosleys function just fine, they're a bit overpriced but they're fine. Records themselves are an inferior music format, and should be left in the garbage bin with 8 tracks
