what was shit?? only the celebrration party. all before it was great!
>double Ruby
>Pablo beeing Baal
>chainsawing Ted
>chainsawfight
>Baal killed by his own finger
I thought it was better than S1.
fight me.
That ending wasn't what the showrunner wanted, it was forced by Raimi's partner, Rob Tapert.
The real finale was supposed to be way better:

Good Craig Digiorno should stick to making pizzas.
The only thing it set up was Ruby as s3 villain and connecting the 2013 remake to this universe
The party has to be a dream. Something like the Baal - Ash episode in the asylum.
Digiorno sure didn't deliver this time.
also
>ED2 monster Henrietta
>funny funny funny funny funny
This is the guy who wanted more AoD and less ED2, so if he's leaving well then no much loss then because as much as comedy is a part of the universe there should still be the horror aspects and situations where it feels like there's actually stakes on the line, and S2 never really felt that way, especially things like Ash's dead being killed off for a joke didn't feel right.
>Meanwhile, at the bar, Ash doesn’t see his dad, but does see a nice young lady, who seems very sad because she just got passed over for a teacher position. She’s distraught, and Ash, having learned a lot about how you can fail and come back from it, starts talking to her very genuinely in the charming Bruce way. They end up drinking together and go in a bathroom stall to have some early-’80s unprotected sex. What you don’t realize is that the woman Ash is having sex with is Kelly’s future mother [a young Suzy Maxwell]. So, what happens is that Kelly, while running in the woods, all of a sudden feels her entire being change and drops the book. That’s when 1982 Ruby catches up and realizes what just happened. She looks through the Necronomicon and sees Ash’s picture, and then next to it, a picture of Kelly starts to appear. Because of the unprotected bathroom stall incident, Kelly has become Ash’s daughter.
>Kelly has become Ash’s daughter.
>worst OC has ties to Ash
Holy shit that would have been fucking awful, OP are you crazy?
S2E10 was the first episode without him and it felt more Supernatural than AvED
>S2E10 was the first episode without him and it felt more Supernatural than AvED
I haven't watched Supernatural in forever, so I can't really comment, but reading his original idea, that would've been worse than what we got.
>that post-credits scene
pls no
if Donna Kelly appearance is changed to Jane Levy Kelly tho, i wouldn't mind
also, this might be happening in season3 anyway. who picked up the book might be Kelly too
that's someone from the 2013 movie
>the series tying into the remake
The remake was fine. Stop being autistic.
Disclaimer I watched the movies with my Raimi friends while having a beer like it was supposed to. Unlike some people here who act like it's some sort of pure art that should never be tempered with.
yeah, i think thats an orgasm emotion he tried to imply
>spoon feeding
Hopefully the beginning girl tied to the pole.
Then at the ending of the movie (2013), season 3 begins.
Sorry, I don't speak weaboo.
almost threw my laptop against the wall when the transformation was cgi
thank god the actual thing was a puppet
Why the fuck are you here then?
To discuss celebrities and their feet.
I mostly like Kelly, and the idea of her being his daughter sounds fucking awful.
>the new showmaster made BSG
yuck.... thas not a good start. Tthat shit's world was built idiotic af + teen dramas
I dunno, Ash would be a pretty cool father-in-law to have. Though, it would make my "So I had my old lady down on all fours, right. And she says spit first if you're goin' in the back door" type stories a little awkward.
and maybe it would've been too much advancement for the sidekicks in one season anyway. Pablo already became the book
>i wanted it to be filled with wacky humor like ash getting his head stuck in a zombies ass
>drama and serious scenes are haaaaarrrddd i wanna just be wacky and crazy. baal trying to break down ash mentally and physically wasnt funny at all, there should have been more ass and poop jokes
>we were changing her character to be the main character's child, a twist no one has ever done, characters should be as related as possible if they associate with each other
Im guessing season 3 would have revealed pablo to be ash's son after ash got suuuper high and had sex with a pablos mom after opening another time portal, i know it doesnt make sense but competent writing is hard and i just wanna be wacky
ash getting his head stuck in the ass of a deadite corpse was the best thing that happened in the whole show
>ash getting his head stuck in the ass of a deadite corpse was the best thing that happened in the whole show
That and the titty thing in the last episode were pretty god damn gross. Even for this franchise. Honestly I'll be glad if they tone it down a bit next season.
Honestly original sounded as bad as what we got
The series shit the bed back in season 1
The lack of a coherent direction in the plot is whats wrong with it not as this faggot says"not fun enough"
The morgue ass monster being his best part of the show really highlights the quality of movie maker he is and why the show failed.
that sounds anything but better
After Army of Darkness, there is really no going back. Not to mention slapstick is the part of Evil Dead since the second installment.
can we stop this meme? the cabin doesn't even exist anymore.
that whole interview nigga was going
>he has a chainsaw hand, nothing will work unless it's silly! And since it's silly we can do whatever the fuck, don't think too much about it!
glad he's gone
>The only thing it set up
nobody gives a shit about what it sets up. it was gory, funny and entertaining. only faggots would complain about this
>The series shit the bed back in season 1
>why the show failed.
i guess thats why theyre making another season you god damn moron. when will you faggots realize that nobody cares the supposed ''lack of coherence'' in the plot. the plot is silly and fun, thats the whole point of the show. go watch your shitty black and white ''artsy'' films if you dont like it
it was a rushed unfunny piece of shit and a lazy way to cop out of everything set up in episode 9
>i guess thats why theyre making another season you god damn moron.
They made 5 season of lost.
The fact a show gets renewed is in no way a sign of its quality.
How fucking stupid you have to to be to think that.
Why do the qts have to die?!
Please God, take Kelly and not blond kiwi and cabin redhead!
the only thing that would make me forget about this enormous fuckup is getting Jane Levy as Mia to the main cast
who said ED 2013 took place in the same cabin?
>The party has to be a dream. Something like the Baal - Ash episode in the asylum.
God I hate the trope. Why can't ash get a happy ending. It's not like it's gonna last anyways. He's never gonna have a normal life. Things well go to hell sooner or later because of that damn book having a hard one for Ash.
Jesus, that sounds horrible. What an odd choice of differences, the butt thing was great, but the time travel daughter comes off as almost too serious, even if it is ridiculous.
ED2 is funny as fuck, what are you on?
The season 2 finale was a lot of fun, the only problem is it feels very rushed. Like throughout the season they were building up to Kelly doing something important and the payoff to that is just her refusing to join 80s Ruby. And the happy ending is so bizarre and comes out of nowhere. I hope it turns out the happy ending is an illusion that 80s Ruby has created.
Hey, for your information, it's thanks to LOST that you have this board, show some respect.
>ED2 is funny as fuck, what are you on?
Yeah there's humor but there's way more serious moments as well that never get interrupted by ash mugging for the camera, things like him getting possessed and then wailing as he remembers his dead girlfriend and managing to somehow shrug off its control.
I guess to me ED 2 has the best balance of the humor and horror and from the way this guy was talking it was always going to be lots more of the former.
its still a shit show
>connecting the 2013 remake to this universe
Wait, how? Did I miss something? Only watched it once yet and it's been a while since I watched the remake.
Get out.
there was a post-credit scene: but that's a bit of a stretch
You're right, AvED has NOTHING on GoT!
Kill yourself.
There has been talk about a crossover by the Director of evil dead 2013 and sam raimi. They both want it to happen.
Now that ash and co ended up mucking up the time line. the end credits for the season finale show a littler girl finding the book. Speculating that that's the same girl from the beginning of ED2013. Season 3 could start right after ED2013 ended.
Wait, there is actually someone alive, who unironically, honest to god, believes GOT is not better than this ?
Mate, calling your taste shit is an understatement.
>ED2 is funny as fuck
yes
and AoD is forced funny, like what this Craig guy wanted to do with AvED
aren't the rights by a different studio again ?
the events from the 2013 remake happening instead of ED1, because the fucked up the timeline in the s02 finale is actually a brilliant idea, much better than Kelly being Ash's daughter. it's a great thing the producer interfered, if that's true
He's shitting on LOST, not AvED. Anyway, why did you bring up GoT?
Kill yourself. AvED is dumb fun and it knows it's dumb fun, GoT is supposed to be a serious fantasy epic but Emilia Clarke can't act and a ton of the writing is horribly written cheese.
That I'm not sure but they could try to work something out.
>Its shit on purpose.
How are people like you even alive,
>he thinks GoT is better than AvED
>he thinks GoT is better than anything
Holy shit mate, you baited me hard
Yeah I'm gonna be a bit sad if my headcanon prediction it's up being wrong but a man can dream.
I like Kelly and Pablo but making one of them Ash's offspring was going to far. I rather them be their own character then just becoming the "new Ash" because we are related. It was the right call.
You guys are getting it all wrong. Him being gone doesn't mean you get a super serious show. (And who the fuck wants that?)
Despite being in favor of the show not taking itself to seriously the other side is still fucking it up tonally. Digegorio seems against constant quipping and more of a situational humor guy. And going by these last episodes I gotta say the quality of the one liners was declining really fast.
That colon scene was one of the best moments of this entire thing. It was faithful to the spirit of the films without just mimicking it. I'd rather see more from the guy that came up with that than from the people behind the finale rewrites.
I don't even like the original idea that much. I think the season started going wrong with Baal, but I still bet the execution would be better than this.
>haha guys remember when Ash' hand flipped him off haha wasn't that hilarious?
Honestly now that Taco is dead i think im dropping it.
I just cant stand those 2 female cunts. Thats demon chick is completely worthless and mess of a character, and with the mexican dead the other one will have no one to play off and will just be annoying.
I not seeing it, this season was already bad so i lost hope.
did you even watch the episode?
it's weird that someone here spoiled the last episode a week in advance
>Ash calling "Baal" "Bill"
the dumbest jokes make me laugh the most
No, i only listened to the audio
Ofc i watched it, the fuck is your point
user spoiler this shit, I saw it on the front page ffs
if it wasn't a goofy gore flick, I would be mad
...
I bet that was Craig's idea too
With how incoherent and random the plot progression was those 2 season i wouldnt exactly call this spoiling the show
The interview in op link gives some insight why was the narrative such a fucking train wreck, but at least they could have tried with the rewritten script a bit
Craig only was involved with the first few minutes of this episde
>It was faithful to the spirit of the films without just mimicking it.
While funny, it felt completely out of place in Evil Dead. Felt more like something that should have been in Re-animator.
DiGregorio sounds bitter, what a shitty interview to give before your episode even airs.
Also for some reason really proud of an awful idea. What we got was the result of damage control.
Like how they forcibly drowned the whole Ash's dad is Ash plot so he can transform into a chainsaw because fuck that shit.
>the whole Ash's dad is Ash plot
What?
That was weird. Was that special cable preview they claimed they saw it on real?
ED1 set the horror tone. ED2 was funny but very dark humor. It was creepy as fuck while still having zany elements that somehow worked because it was Ash pretty much going insane. We were witnessing his mental breakdown. ED3 was pure slapstick and really dumb when you think about it. The only good part was the windmill scene and the cut where he wakes up years too late at the end.
I think the finale played too much to ED3's tone. I wanted more ED2 and the only one who can pull that off is Raimi directing.
there is a lot of very subtle humor in ED1.
Yeah
good, go pretend to watch something else
>87211▶
>Did you wonder why the finale of s2 was such a shit show? Wonder no mor
>But basically, we were setting up a season three where Ash had to go rescue his daughter… Kelly.
Thank fuck. That sounds god awful.
Agreed. ED 2 is funny as hell, but it still hits a good balance of horror/comedy for me. And the humor seemed a bit more absurd, like the laughing things in the cabin, rather than colon monsters, which was absurd but like gross out absurd.
I dunno, I like Rob Tapert's work with Xena, Hercules, and Spartacus, so I'm gonna stick around for season three. I kinda agree with him that the slapstick sometimes went a bit too far, so maybe he'll strike a balance in season three I prefer.
>77189601
>woah how did raimi get away with this?!
This Rupert sounds like a prick
Why didn't Ash went back and rescue her?
No, he just sounds like he actually has taste and knows what Evil Dead is (you know, since he actually fucking produced all the films) and some literally who acts like he can tell a person who has been involved with Evil Dead from the beginning what is and isn't Evil Dead? I'm glad that guy got canned.
brock pls
i just came in here to say that the set and sound design and monster design on this show have been amazing and this is legit one of the only shows on television that cannot be called a soap opera
Ash being Kelly's daughter and needing to rescue her is a fucking TERRIBLE idea, honestly.
I get the humor they're aiming for but if the show needs to stay away from this alternate timeline stuff. It was fun for bringing back Henrietta but that's as far as it should go.
However I really do want Kelly to keep getting build up to being a bad ass. She stands out in a really good way, she's not the best actor but something about her makes her unique and work as a secondary leader.
I really love how twisted and darkly funny the mental hospital episode got, Ashy Slashy was pure brilliance.
...
Season 1's tone was more spot-on but Season 2 was more creative with it's scenarios
Hopefully with this guy leaving they can nail something
youtube.com
>Special episode mirroring AoD just enough to not get sued
>Pablo and Kelly become separated from Ash and captured by the military
>military general/scientists summon the Army of the Dead studying the Necronomicon
>2 part episode where Pablo rallies the defenders of the military base against the undead Army, becoming a Jefe in his own right
I really love how fucking much they skirt with referencing AoD
It's kind of shocking whenever it gets thrown out honestly
