Really like an artist

Pixies and Nirvana
The Smiths. I love them. But I can't replicate my love.
The Cure is boring.
Joy Division is too dramatic.
Echo & The Bunnymen, REM, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Stone Roses. Not feeling them.
I like Television but I already liked them before.
Vincent Gallo,Popol Vuh,Long fin killie,Adebisi shank and Sparklehorse

this
This band is a ripoff (from the same era at least) with a similar vibe:
Mayhem/Thorns
There's no one who makes black metal quite like Burzum.
Midori
I've come to accept that it was lightning in a bottle and I'll never find music like that again.
Titus Andronicus. They started out as a lo-fi band so all the recs I get based on them are bands like Bass Drum of Death which are okay I guess, but not at all the same appeal.
midori, though i wouldn't say what i found didn't do if for me, most of them did but i also discovered boris, not really what i was looking for, but still good.
I suspect i wasn't looking in the right places then though.
FUCK Burzum.
Modest mouse.
Bedhead-Transaction de novo
Anco-STGSTV
Foals-Antidotes
Magnolia electric co.-Josephine
aw, that's a shame, i'd always assumed that it was my lack of knowing where to look and/or understanding of moonrunes that kept me from finding anything like them
Kozelek
deerhunter
Are you saying you can’t get into Built to Spill?
I like built to spill a lot but it's not the same
Brave Little Abacus. Nothing else does it for me.
The Paper Chase. The bands Congleton and Kirkpatrick formed after they broke up are both good but just not the same.
Darkspace
Daniel Avery
Kishi Bashi
My favorite artist.
Of Montreal doesn't feel quite right and I'm not a big fan anyway.
Animal Collective is too experimental to truly have similar qualities.
And Andrew bird isn't engaging enough.
Disco Inferno
nothing can replace his nasally voice and orgasmic trumpets.
Weezer
Anything Mark Hollis and
The avalanches, the books were the only band close to replicating them for me
except for, you know, every single burzum clone out there
Try checking out Negativland-Dispepsi then
The Dodos
Boards of Canada
and before you ask, no, that cuck Tycho doesn't count
Gorillaz
Nickelback
lel I knew what this was going to be before I clicked. great song though.
385 are kinda similar, I prefer them honestly. You've probably heard them already though
