i agree with that sentiment
Did metal ever have an equivalent of groove metal but with actual riffs? I just want heavy ass grooves but without the boring Pantera/Lamb Of God riffs. Actually heavy, too, not that old ass Sabbath stuff (which is good but not what I am looking for.)
OSDM?
If you want "2deep4u polyrhythms" then djent
but really groove metal is just a retarded little brother of thrash/DM. nearly all of "vanilla" DM has focus on rhythm. It might have some melody so it's not groove per se. But still you get my point
friendly reminder than NSBM is basically glam metal with bad production
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEXIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT
so close, no matter how faaaaaar
I guess I just wanted mid tempo examples of metal done well I guess that's heavy as well. Djent doesn't really have much going for it in terms of riffs, and doom is too slow or too old depending on style.
Can we please talk about this band? Absolutely fantastic.
well death can be considered mid tempo—the blastbeats are fast but the picking is not thrash speed
if you want something simpler then maybe check out good trad (early Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest's classics) or crossover thrash and good hardcore
sorry if it's dumb advice, I just don't know how deep you are into metal
Is he /ourguy/?
it's called thrash you stupid homo

Is it bad that I want to listen to this only because of the album art
What is some good Christian metal? Preferably death or thrash. Already know about Theocracy and Stryper, and pic related is my favorite
This annihilates the art hoe

Living Sacrifice made some p. good Slayer worship in their early days.

GURWA :DDD
thank god the baby isn't black
Most shit Rob Rock sings on veers into Christian territory, since he's an ardent Bible thumper himself. One of the best singers in the genre, but sadly pretty unknown outside of fans of '80s shred.
nigga that's some cute shit
I wouldn't really call them metal past their first release, but Saviour Machine's first album is pretty solid stuff, albeit still not the heaviest. Eric Clayton has a pretty good voice though, and definitely picks up the pace a bit on their first album.

i fucking love nuclear metal
I used to be into christian metal back when I hadn't turned my back on christianity yet and there were some okay to good bands I listened to:
Black/Death(ish):
>Kekal, Extol, Crimson Moonlight, Sympathy, Morphia, Drottnar, Slechtvalk, Sacrificium
Metalcore (actually pretty good though):
>Benea Reach, Zao, Living Sacrifice
Power:
>Narnia
Thrash:
>Tourniquet
how true is this /metal/?
black metal should be a crossbow
otherwise it looks about right
doom metal : mortar
dsbm
dsbm
I'd especially recommend Kekal. Experimental as fuck.

FUCK
black metal being a shotgun kinda makes sense due to Dead blowing his brains out with one, yet I dont think the creator of that 9gag-tier image was that clever
The shotgun is for Mayhem
that's not what he uses
however Famine's crossbow is very iconic and appropriate
I got my black metal murders confused
I get that, but a shotgun still doesn't convey much about the themes of BM

>saw several people praising Sadus as best brutal thrash
>it sounds good but nothing special
After death thrash, teutonic and 1st wave it sounds pretty basic. Am I missing something?
>sounds pretty basic
This one rips harder than anything Teutonic bands came out with.
>d-beat
Who gives a fuck about hundreds of shitty discharge clones.
well yeah I mean it's just straight forward hardcore songwriting
I guess I have been spoiled by Reign in Blood, Kreator and all their breakdowns and riffs
Could be.
