You may just not enjoy police procedurals if you think it's boring.
Thing with the wire is that it's just as much a gangsta/crime show as a police procedural. The pacing is slow as shit, which means both plot line requrie a sufficient build-up. I tried to watch it the first time and gave up after 5 episodes because it didn't give me any enjoyment. Tried again a few months later and watched all seasons within a couple of weeks. It gets really addicting at some point, more so than GoT.
