Movie criticisms you hate

>its style over substance

Kill yourself

>You have to turn off your brain and watch it

Thats not why I watch movies

style is substance

how a film is shot, edited, acted, etc., all effect what is communicated, influences whatever meaning the viewer gets from the movie

>pretentious
>too slow
>DUDE PRETTY PICTURES
>nitpicking elements that don't make sense, in fucking capeshit

>it's capeshit waaaaaahhhh

Wrong

incorrect

bullshit

imagine The Seventh Seal was shot like Transformers, or vice-versa. Would you still take away the same meaning from each film as you do now?

>I didn't like it; all of the characters were bad people

>It was too depressing

>"this movie is full of plotholes"
>turns out they aren't plotholes, the idiot ranting about them is just too dumb to understand what was going on

>The characters weren't relatable.

Yes Transformers would still be a braindead flick about giant robots fighting for no reason.

Kill Bill a good example of a pure style over substance movie.

style informs substance. Style is not substance itself

>I could see what it was trying to do but it didn't work for me.

>NOTHING HAPPENED!

Acting like minor, nitpicky plotholes just kill the entire movie.

>it's fun!!!

>It's just a revamp of the old ghost busters movie with an all female cast!

>just turn your brain off bro

>What?? Batman vs. Superman?? That sounds so dumb dude I'm not gonna watch that.

.

>cast is too white

>its boring
>nothing happens
>its terribly paced
>its too grimdark
>its not like i wanted
>its shit

>i can't follow it because i haven't seen it before

>It starts off too slow
It's called build-up

First three are totally legit.

>audience of single movie goers

This

>I'm giving it a low score because the female protagonist didn't kill everyone with her blaster.

>only millennials liked this

>it's objectively good/bad
