Some nation will use nuclear weapons, however they will not kill anybody. A nation with a star flag, possibly Israel, will rapidly expand and occupy a lot of territory. However, Jerusalem will fall to the Islamic State. Many false prophets will arise in this time, as promised in Revelations. China will go to war over the South China Sea islands. Two peoples will be wiped out, whilst Rome either falls to under Islamic rule or the Papacy grows a backbone.
Clay is also in the visions of one of the prophets, Daniel I think? Some have said that the feet which are one clay and the other iron or something represent the old roman empire (iron) and the roman catholic church (clay). The star would obviously be Israel.
