That it was retarded

The US imperialists tried to invade China through Korea and were repulsed by the Chinese People's Volunteers. This was considered the end of China's century of humiliation and beginning of CCP making China a superpower again.

Was pretty grim and a lot of people died civilians included

Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War is the best war movie I've ever watched

There wouldn't be any Pillsbury Dough Boy with nuclear missiles in 2017 if we'd finished the job properly in 1950.

Fuck off, Xiang.

Should have nuked NK and Manchuria just as MacArther was trying to do

the cpva was able to repulse the un's effort with the world's most modern navy and airforce only with surprise attack by moving at night, after reaching the 38th the momentum was bugged down they the allies superior combined arms

the logistic and material gap made for china was made keenly aware

IMO, MacArthur should have stopped at Pyongyang and left the northern third of the peninsula as a demilitarized zone between Korea and China. The problem was, he believed too much in his own invincibility.

Yeah it started when we first went in there to repulse the North Korean attack. The US military thought the KPA were just a bunch of Asian peasants with bayonets tied to sticks and were surprised to learn that they were facing a professional army with the latest Soviet equipment.

Later on they assumed same of the Chinese and paid the price for it. The PVA didn't have much heavy equipment, but they were disciplined veterans of the civil war, and could survive on a handful of rice and some salt fish every day. Also they were able to handle the frigid winter weather in Korea like a boss.

What almost was a great defeat for the Americans became a draw through the sheer bravery and fighting instinct of the U.S.M.C at Chosin Reservoir.

>120,000 Chinese
>30,000 UN forces

The north central part of North Korea is a desolate mountain range, it's incredibly difficult to fight in and going in there was pure retardation.

Muh few, muh proud, my united states maureens. Semper Pie

Eisenhower was a faggot

Mr. "hur dur im going to create the military industrial complex during my presidency then retire and warn the general public about it"

Only an American can turn a loss into a win.

Eisenhower wasn't president when the Korean War started, he was the guy who ended it. And actually FDR created the military-industrial complex because he turned the entire US economy into a giant war machine so completely that it's never been possible to completely change it back.

of little consequence, the point of war is to win objectives, the loss of life and property is meaningless.

Grandpa was there

it was of great consequence for china
and the start of the sino soviet split

this
we threatened to nuke china if they didnt ceasefire
they said well if you nuke us, ussr will nuke america
then the ussr told the chinese that no they would not

and the chinese got mad

That its actually called the victorious fatherland liberation war
