Post quintessential Christmas movies

Post quintessential Christmas movies.

>DH is a christmas movie xD
you have to go back

How is it not?

...

...

It just plays at the 24th of December, it has absolutely nothing in common with a real christmas movie.
Go back to rddit with your meme opinion.

hmm. i think, the quintessential christmas movie, is the movie Elf.

>It just plays at the 24th of December
those are the best kind, movies that are actually about the holiday itself tend to be lame as fuck

...

Have you thought about How the Grinch Stole Christmas today?

My Quintessentially British friend told me not to celebrate Christmas because it's haram.

>first Die Hard viewing after Alan Rickman's death

M-merry Christmas.

Die hard
Homo alone(the porn parody)

Home Alone

All my friends and family hate this film, but it's one of the best Christmas films

That's not it's a wonderful life.

Brazil.

dont forget he was in love actually

Every x-mas ever since I discovered this movie.

Honorable mention: Krampus

Here's another good slasher Christmas movie.

The last boy scout >>>>> any Die Hard

So you just like movies set in the winter/Christmas time, not actual Christmas movies?

Hello, reddit

I hated that movie, thought it was a poor excuse for a slasher. It was basically a westernized giallo without any of the panache

Love me some Krampus tho

Die Hard > Die Hard 3 > Last Boy Scout > Die Hard 2 > Die Hard 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Die Hard 5 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cop-Out

So we started the Die-Hard-is-an-Xmas-movie meme r-right..?

>shits on this
>is probably a frogposter who loved harambe, filthy frank and shrek

Close... But Die 3 = Die 1

also
>checked

I like some "actual Christmas movies" but they do tend to be overly schmaltzy which I'm rarely in the mood for. I'd much rather have a story that stands on its own while happening to have a Christmas setting and/or winter ambiance.

No Lethal Weapon?

Bad Santa

The Log Kiss Goodnight > The Last Boy Scout

"real christmas movie"
you're wrong. first off, it references it's unique status when argyle plays a hip-hop christmas song in the opening. it takes place on christmas eve (according to the novel, not sure about the movie itself) and is all about the main character redeeming himself in the eyes of his wife (the redemption motif is the most important in christmas movies). it's definitely "non-traditional" but it's certainly a christmas movie in every other respect.

Strong, we need a monologue about people dying in chimneys for Christmas cheer!

no Reindeer Games? Sup Forums is pure reddit now

Will Ferrell got to make out with Zooey Deschanel

It's not fair

Not only is Die Hard bang average and overrated as hell (Rickman is the only really great thing in the movie) you can also use it as a pleb filter for people who call it a christmas movie.

Les choristes

Here's your (You)

no one ever mentions this xmas fairytale

in no particular order

Die Hard
Muppet Christmas Carol
Trading Places
It's a Wonderful Life
Porridge:the Movie
Help For The Holidays
Edward Scissorhands
The Apartment
Grinch That Stole Christmas
Melly Chlistmas Mr Rawlence

Die Hard one is one of my favorite Christmas movies. Die Hard two not so much. Even though Die Hard 3 is not considered a Christmas movie per se Santa Clause IS referenced! (The aqua duct scene)

People complain about Die Hard not really being a Christmas movie but what about movies that are now Christmas movies that weren't even considered Christmas movies when first released like It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th St.?

I went through all the posts and am disappointed that Jumanji isn't included on this list. If Die Hard 1&2 are considered Christmas movies as well as It's a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th St. then Jumanji most certainly must be considered one as well!

Pic related to topic. It's from the final scene of Jumanji!

>Pic related to topic. It's from the final scene of Jumanji!

Will you hold my other hand, just to make sure I get all the references in this thread?

>Jumanji
>Christmas movie
no. having a christmas scene doesn't qualify a movie as a "christmas movie." one scene doesn't cut it and i'm sure you know that. why are you being such a contrarian?
