How did we go from shit like this and Home Movies and Moral Orel to the kind of one-dimensional cynical humour we get in cartoons today? I mean these were all cynical shows in their own way but it was part of who they were while current shows wear it like a fashionable jacket. It took Moral Orel two seasons to earn its darkest moment, and Bojack Horseman will just go there at the drop of a hat and it's completely affectless.

Why does based Xavier devolve into a goofy-sounding retardo as the show progresses? Episode 1 he sounded like a pretty normal bro, and from then he goes full potato (which is much funnier). What's the reasoning behind it?

Just took them a while to find their groove, I guess. It's not like he gets more retarded as time goes on, he already starts at maximum retard.

I heard a story that the creator wanted to take Morel Oral in a serious direction earlier but AS liked the pregnancy episode so much that they requested more episodes like that.

We all agree that Xavier is the GOAT, but what did you guys think of their other shows?

I think Wonder Showzen is god tier and Delocated and Heartshe are great (Patton Cuckmurderman aside), but I didn't like Neon Joe as much as I wanted to desu.

Oh and Final Flesh is GOAT as well

I think Xavier is a masterwork, I don't know if you can really recreate the conditions necessary to make something like that through only planning. Xavier is special.

too much to explain. but hes looking for his fathers killer, his mommy, and the answers to life. often he helps people but somehow in helping them it often causes things to get worse.

he asks alot of philosophical questions and the greatness of the show is in the dialogue. You have to see the whole series to get the general feeling. But mostly there is a strong spiritual aspect to everything, and things like karma usually play out when people do bad things in the show. usually xavier gets away without getting in trouble and barely acknowledges the damage hes done in helping others. Whats interesting is how just about everyone states why they are doing something. My guess is that hes hallucinating these episodes while walking through the desert.

Shakashuri blowdown episode gives good visuals for what the secrets of the universe could be.

but most importantly I think it has to do with self spirituality and existance in this universe. The dialogue is key to understanding the purpose.

Thanks user. Yeah i guess I understand the main premise of the show. But whenever I watch an episode theres always something at the back of my brain telling me theres more to comprehend about the episode. I guess each episode truly takes more than one viewing to truly 'get'.

Some other user told me there was once a video series on Youtube where some guy pretty much analytically decoded every episode and all the hidden meanings but dunno if theyre still there anymore. Either way i appreciate the over all mystique this show brings i guess you could say

Personally I think you have to try some type of hallucinogen or dissociative to understand things better. Get that feeling of being lost and helpless and paranoid scenarios playing out in your head.

Its kind of like in a dream you want to get somewhere but keep getting sidetracked.But in the end you remember the most important thing from your dream and usually it isnt direct but requires you to think.
