I know that there are idiots on Sup Forums who literally get triggered if you mention that you're listening to an album while writing some post because then it means "ur'e not paying cloze attention to muzak!!! REEEEEE"

I do this literally every time I browse Sup Forums.

If you don't listen to an album with your full attention the first time, you've never actually liked music.

shitposting on Sup Forums is the best time to listen to music

One of the reasons why I have music as my hobby and not movies is the exact reason that it gives you freedom to do other stuff while listening to it, be it studying, exercising, washing the dishes, browsing the Internet etc. There's no "wrong" or "right" way of listening to music.

this

wrong.

>not having a playlist with your whole library active 24/7 on the background of your computer for the scrobbles but never actually listening to any music

Posting here doesn't take any brainpower though.

Wait arr you not supposed to do other things while listening to a new album?? Well i figured since the songs would not be remembered most of the time but i feel bored just sitting paying attention to every song and doing nothing else for over an hour. I have attention deficit diorder thanks to always using my phone and youtube. Dont get me wrong i love listening to new music.

this is scientifically incorrect

>I have attention deficit diorder thanks to always using my phone and youtube
this is scientifically incorrect and kind of offensive

Wrong, Sup Forumsposting is casual.

but a single person couldn't do it without a brain

only half way true, you can do small easy tasks or watch meditative loop videos but try not to read or write while listening to music. It can actually take away from the experience, not just for the music but for the other activity too.

Again there are no set in stone rules. If you like posting on Sup Forums while listening to music be my guest. But generally people that just listen to the music with no other form of stimulation recall and understand it better.

>he can't listen to music while shitposting
t. brainlet

i can because i have a functioning brain my dude
let's try an experiment: shoot yourslef in the head with a 12 gauge shotgun and try shitposting on Sup Forums

So can I. Blow me instead big boy.

Really though, who the fuck is listening to music alone in a dark room? None of you assholes. You're all doing something at the same time. And nothing is wrong with that.

I used to do this... last.fm autism is a disease. I'm glad I deleted it

last.fm pretty much deleted itself though

listening to music that you already like while doing something else is fine. but at least once (first, second, third time) it is good to pay full attention to the music. Not a rule, i wouldn't judge anyone who doesn't but its probably a good idea.

there are weird Sup Forumstants among us

This picture but unironically.

What do you mean? Because of youtube binging and easy access to videos i get bored of content that is longer than 5 minutes.

you can both listen to music as background, while also devoting some time to completely engaging yourself with some other album
it's never either or

>it's never either or
I agree, but the turboautists who say unless you listen while sitting doing nothing else, you don't appreciate music, are full of shit

Somewhat agree with this. Also good thread unironically because this was just something I was thinking about.

The way I see it is that there are certain albums that have to be sort of heard in a sitting, but I still do things when listening. Its really easy to musically multitask, especially on instrumental records

adhd is a neurodevelopmental disorder
it's like saying "X gave me autism"

Substance abuse can give you adhd.

my dude, it's the other way around. people with adhd are much more likely to abuse drugs. do a little research.

end yourselv

no, it's not a disease, you're just a toxic individual

>end yourselv
>no, it's not a disease, you're just a toxic individual
>end yourselv
>you're just a toxic individual

do you lack any self awareness?

>not getting linguistic puns

>not appreciating the best sitcom protagonist of the last 25 years

your bad taste triggers me

This

Do you never do that? I don't do it often but every week or so it's nice listening to an album with no distractions right before going to bed

>Do you never do that?
I wouldn't say never. Sometimes, like you say, when I go to bed early I'll listen to some music with my earbuds, but 99% of my music listening is done while doing something else.

>h3h3 gif
XD

takes one to know one

music makes vidya better

This. I mute all game sounds for every game and just play music. I don't even pay that much attention to the game, it's just something to do. The music is the foreground, the game is the background.

A lot of people think that when you're doing something while listening to music, that the music is automatically the background. It's usually the opposite

checked

your brain literally cannot do two things simultaneously there's been studies done proving this

>do
focus on two things

I'd love to see these studies that totally contradict my own experiences

Maybe if you're listening to lil pump

here you go, if you want to read them go ahead but ill post some brief info from each

pashler.com/Articles/Pashler_PB1994.pdf
first 2 sentences from conclusion
>This review suggests that a focus on relatively simple tasks reveals much about the underlying limitations on people's ability to perform different tasks at the same time. The results show that people have surprisingly severe limitations on their ability to carry out simultaneously certain cognitive processes that seem fairly trivial from a computational standpoint

journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1518/001872006777724471
>When driving conditions and time on task were controlled for, the impairments associated with using a cell phone while driving can be as profound as those associated with driving while drunk.

Yet here I am, doing it. And there's always exceptions to rules. Makes me feel good, I must be one of the gifted ones. :)

And from that you concluded it's impossible to play a video game while listening to music? Are you high?
