When people are in complete shock from serious trauma they don't necessarily follow the most efficient path from one point to another. Those people probably ran or were carried away from the club, not in any particular direction just a panicked GTFO move, and then stopped, got their shit together, and decided to head for the hospital. instead of wait for emergency services, which were likely going to be occupied for some time.
