I Am Not A Serial Killer (2016)

If you don't know about this film, it's about a teenager, that's a sociopath, from a quiet little town and he witnesses a murder that was only the beginning of the killer's spree. The film mainly revolves around him, and his pursuit to find the killer and to understand his reasons.

Main protagonist isn't your run of the mill teenager, and he's the "wierd" kid in his school, because he's into serial killers, the psychology about it, and he usually works with his mother in the morgue. He has quite an interesting character arc, and his development was one of the best parts of the film.

There's no soundtrack here, expect certain segments of the film where the tension is high and it's used to elevate it, which was done well.

Directing was good, and made the film even better. It's mostly done in a pov style, and that makes sense considering the main plot of the film. It has some nice visuals, few close ups that were used well and the pov style of it only increased the tention in certain segments of it.

The only flaws are that some characters lack characterization and end up being just there, and the weak CGI in one of the ending moments of the film, though it wasn't really that bad, it also doesn't have much of an effect on your experience while watching it, there for, it ends up being easy to get past it.

TL;DR:
>I really liked it, because the main character was interesting and the overall plot had some high tension in it. It was also followed by good directing, and the ending made me almost like the killer.

Want to discuss it?

Nah

Thanks for the bump, I guess.

It was fucking tense when he was in his house.

It was one of the better moments in the film. It was quite tense, and I really liked how the main character couldn't truly finish the deed and how he struggled with it.

I'll give this a go, thanks for the recommendation.

OK, so apparently the killer is "paranomal", fuck that.

He's mostly human, it doesn't really ruin the film. He kills in order to stay alive, similar to that guy in the first season of X-Files. You should still give it a go, don't be a faggot.

If you keep low expectations is pretty ok.

Lloyd does good the old man character (He's being old +35 years) and the final monster reveal was also ok.

6,5/10 movie.

Fuck, I just really have supernatural elements in these sort of stories, it feels like a carte blanche to pull some retarded deus ex machina whenever convenient.

And this isn't it. His character, to spoil a film a bit, is a supernatural entitiy that's been killing for over hundred years in order to survive, but he fell in love and doesn't want live his wife whom he really likes and is struggling to live, since he needs to kill to survive and is near death. I know, I'm not the best explaination wise, but the film is quite solid and has genuine moments of high tension.

I'd maybe go to 7, but 6.5 is maybe more accurate. Loyd was good and the main actor wasn't too bad, either. Good directing also helped. It's a very solid film to watch during winter, especially now.

Is this viral marketing, or have you just accidentally phrased your entire post as a desperate shill trying to earn his shekels?

I wanted to engage others into having a legit discussion. This isn't even shilling, because I did state it does have flaws and it isn't great by any means, but it is very solid and worth watching. Are you mentally challanged or are you just pretending you're a complete retard? don't answer, it's rethorical

...

...

live action Rick and Morty?

Absolutely not.

I was a fan of books few years ago, but the movie was kinda forgettable. They couldn't do better job with source material probably desu.

>characters that are literally you

>intelligent, nihilistic, with wicked sense of humour.

Eh, I'd disagree. I found mc's character arc to be interesting, it was quite thrilling and had moments of high tension, directing was good and Loyd and Max gave good performances.

>white people

I liked that kid in Where the Wild Things Are. I wish he had done more stuff while he was still a cute kid instead of a creepy looking teenager.

That creepiness did help him in this film in a way that it made him more belivable, if that makes sense.

Don't.

it's a good movie, but i guess, i had too high expectations and was let down. I think, second/third book would be better movie adaptations, first is more of a mini-series material.

pretty sure he signed up for this movie long time ago. Producers spend several years trying to gather money and he basically couldn't/didn't want to act in anything else.

I got a small advice for you, don't have high expectations for films, especially adaptations, and you'll enjoy them more. That doesn't mean you should lower your standards, though.

huh. deja vu

Hm?

>being creepy
>being serial killers

sounds like a white people movie to me

Because asian and black serial killers don't exsist, eh?

Market somewhere else, fag

Film's been long out of cinema, why would I market it now? I just want to have a legit discussion about the film, you fucking idiot.

Why do you type like such a fucking sperg then?

Why can't you comprehend simple sentences?

whites disproportionately lead the autistic sociopath creep.

Thanks for the suggestion OP. Nice first post on Sup Forums too.

I can comprehend, cuckboy.
It's just people who want to discuss a film usually don't try to sell it so hard.

>Apt Pupil 2

who cares ya fag

Okay, but the killer's race matters for this film how?

I wrote that a month ago when I've finished, though your point is taken.

They're rather different.

Enjoy, my man.

try reddit faggot, they'll love this edgy b movie shit

Why the fuck does a film like that need CGI at all?

Well pilgrim, only after you eat the peanuts out of my shit. In all seriousness, you can fuck off with your buzzwords and choke on your pedo posts.

It's very brief and it's only in 2-3 scenes tops. CGI is mainly used to show serial killers true form.

Go look at the Making of Zodiac and be amazed!

I'm really not interested in watching a film about an alien serial killer if it's not under the skin. Especially if most of it is from some aspie's perspective.

>triggered redditor is triggered
kek, cry more faggot

Then don't. And the film isn't mainly about the serial killer, it's about clinically diagnosed socio-aspie and how that affects him as a person. It's a solid watch, but not something I'd consider great.

Go back to your cuck porn, friendo.

>implying redditors aren't the cucks by default
Upvoted, friend! :^)

Was upvoting me part of your plan?

>2016
>being this obvious
How much do they pay you to post here?

Sorry OP, it's way too trope-y.

Probably written by someone edgy who doesn't like people a lot.

>hey guize le bane xDDDD do I fit in yet?

Why would you be sorry? You didn't like and that's okay. I wouldn't agree he was all that trope-y, he realized he was wrong dividing people like that in the end and his growth as a character throughout it was interesting, at least to me.

Read this >Look at me, I know how to use meme arrows and I post trump maymays XDD
Well done, friendo. You're such a 4channer!

pleb trash
literally another 'It Follows' or 'Unfriended'
get some taste OP

Are you retarded? It isn't even a horror movie and it's far different than both of the movies you've listed.

Nice haircut

I thought I was the only one who watched this movie but I'm glad to hear it getting the praise it deserves.

>isn't even a horror
>is about a supernatural killer
same format, same unoriginal concept, same old shit
stopped watching within the first fifteen minutes
are you seriously such a fan of this film that it inspired you to make this dumb thread?
you need help, son

It certainly flew under the radar. Also, it got bad scores, because many thought of it as a horror movie, which seems wierd considering it's mainly a character centered thriller. Glad to see someone else likes it, too.

>stopped watching within the first 15 minutes
Then go away, because you won't contribute nothing valuable to the discussion. Đ

>is about a supernatural killer
It is about our main character that's following him, not solely about the killer.

I turned it off because it's shit, and if I can warn other anons about how shit it is then maybe I can save them the trouble of trying to sit through this garbage
I'm contributing more than anyone ITT

You're not, because you're judging a 1 hour and 44 minutes long movie based on the first 15 minutes.

OP is probably shilling because it's being released on DVD or something. Sage.

Or, you know, I want to have a legit discussion about it and that's why I made an effort to type something to initiate it.

it is seriously that bad

I liked it too, shame it didnt get as much press. I know its a book series so Im hoping for sequels.

Also, what the fuck was it supposed to be? An alien, a monster, a demon?

It's not, but there's no use in telling you that, since you haven't seen the entierity of it.

Probably some kind of monster/alien.

>"""discussion"""
Like how all those Purge 3 posters wanted a discussion too, amirite?

I have a hunch that no matter what I tell you, I'll still be called a shill, but I'll try again. My intention wasn't to shill it, it was to have a discussion about, and that includes anons that have a negative opinion on it, but it must be followed by actual arguments instead of mere buzzwords. If I was to shill it, I'd done so when it first came out as, you know, shills usually tend to. And I didn't even oversell it as some sort of masterpiece, I said it's a solid film that's worth watching, not the next Eyes Wide Shut or what not.

its now officially a part of my comfy winter movie collection with the girl with the dragon tattoo and let the right one in and prisoners

Nice comfy picks, I added it to mine, too! Though mine consists of Grinch, Carpenter's The Thing and Eyes Wide Shut.

I did some work in the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, setting up some of the lights the WWE use during the show. Most wrestlers I had any interaction with were cool guys.

Except Seth Rollins. He has to have autism or some shit. While I was trying to set this shit up, he wanders over and starts asking me how much I think he can lift. I mentioned I've seen videos of him deadlifting nearly 500 lbs, and he starts bragging like "Damn right, I did that for reps son!" Then started trying to challenge me to a fight, which I tried to downplay as not being any match for him and having work to do, which got him to lay off.

THEN he points at a light bulb and asks what it is. I'm there explaining what a light bulb is to a grown man. He asks if he can hold it. Before I can tell him to be careful and that these bulbs aren't cheap, he has already dropped and broken it. He just paused for a second before running off. Nice use of a $25 light bulb.

Ambrose saw the tail end of this circus and apologized for Seth, saying he's just a weird guy. No kidding.

Why?

Sounds good, it's on Netflix too IIRC.

I think it might be.
