Part of me thinks this would work really well, another part wonders if the Cold War setting dates it too much.
To continue the thread, for the past few years Steve Carrel has been attached to Magic Kingdom For Sale...SOLD!, which would be perfect casting if they weren't dragging their feet on making it.
I also think Bazil Broketail would make a good fantasy movie. The first book's like "What if Conan the Barbarian was a dragon?" and the later books are "What if the Spartans in 300 had dragons?"
I'd also like to see a TV series based on the Rifts RPG. But rather than a ponderous HBO series, I want it in the style of a 90s syndicated show like Hercules or Babylon 5.
Sci-fi wise, nothing recent sticks out. Maybe do some of the Alan Dean Foster Humanx novels.
