Is it possible for a political conservative to release good music?

sure, as long as he isn't an alt-right cuckboy

...

The truth doesn't choose sides

define "good"

who?

Yep

"Conservative" is an almost completely meaningless term on its own.

Only in a limited number of styles unless they are discreet.

Fun fact most "conservatives" are actually very liberal and in a lot of cases more liberal than actual "liberals"

...

depends on the genre tbqh

Is it possible for any modern political music to be good?

a daring new take on a classic thread

If an artist's political leanings are widely-known they probably arent that great anyway.

What's wrong with either of those statements? Sometimes what people have a stake in conserving are liberal ideals that otherwise would have died off, like private firearms ownership.

they're right

except he's right

this is all nonsense
under today's capitalism "political conservatives" =/= conservative people
in fact any person that doesn't fit the general consumeristic mold is marginalized so they can't be of any political significance

politics and music should be separated

I () was being contrarian. I'm liberal in the sense that I think people should be allowed to do pretty much whatever as long as it doesn't cause harm or significant inconvenience to others. I literally work and do research in social services so I see, hear, and study a lot of depressing shit relating to minorities/women/people of color that males it really hard to align myself with the libertarian "everyone is self made" mantra.

Makes it really hard to go one way or the other because when I want to stand with liberals on issues like gay marriage, trans rights, or social programs, I have to bite my tongue when they go off on anti-gun stuff or start going off on a TERF/radfem tirade. But if I appear to conservative I run the risk of agreeing with someone who is sexist/racist/willfully ignorant. Its a bad look either way.

But you can't identify as a centrist either, because then you're just spineless and stand for nothing.

The fact that people can't compromise on certain issues or else "they'll look weak" is a major fault in our politicians. Tribe mentality is a plague.

QUICK BEFORE THREAD GETS DELETED POST MUSIC THAT POINTS OUT OUR CONSUMERIST WAYS

>The Mothers of Invention - Freak Out!

Welcome to living in the US, friend. I hate this shit. Currently planning on graduating with my double engineering majors then moving to Canada and working for GM.

More consumerism music:

>desaparecidos - read music speak spanish

yes: but they're *conservative, so their way of advertising their music will be different.

>the state of Sup Forums
Ian Curtis / Joy Division

Rush released 2112 with a dedication to "the genius of Ayn Rand"

>If an artist's political leanings are widely-known they probably arent that great anyway.

liberals have more of an activist mindset so its easier to tell when they release music. conservatives don't tend to inject their politics into their music.

I'm about to start my grad career in social psychology.

As much as I want to help others and work social service/humanitarian type jobs. I'm making $200-$300 a night bar-tending and every year I get deeper into research and internships I just get more depressed with what I find. The guy that owns the restaurant I work at is running for state senate as a Democrat, and he, even as a person of color, an immigrant, and a former professor of sociology is just as stupid and careless towards social change as any other politician.

His campaign heads got drunk at my bar without him around one night and basically talked about how they were robbing him blind and how he had absolutely no chance to win. He's not a terrible guy, just has really disorganized priorities in his life but with enough money to not care. His mom is a professor who will ultimately be reviewing my dissertation so I want to keep him happy.

Shit just makes me question doing any of it though.

Rand is such a joke. Universal ethical egoism is for teenagers and the Youtube celebrities that entertain them.
>accumulating property is the only thing that matters but I'm still going to call everyone who disagrees with me a jew

Makes sense, they love fantasy shit.

I don't care about meme music

/thread

>muh social issues

How about literally every classical musician?

I've been there. the book of ecclesiasts says there is nothing new under the sun, and then other verses in the bible say "behold! what I've made new!" you need to know the institutions side, and the alternative side so they won't get to you. lurk more new-fag. amen.

(I'm drunk forget what I said)

have fun bumping your own posts

so you became a psychologist in order to help people and you realized that most people are morons and you actually hate them? I'm asking because I thought about that a lot. Psychology interests me but I don't really care that much about helping people

you should become serial killers

or just marketing workers/traders/big name capitalists

same thing really

>actually liking and caring about normies
disgusting

My program focuses almost exclusively on research, social law, and community intervention. aside from required psych intro courses I haven't really studied anything clinical.

But yes, you're essentially correct. Communities call for change, they get young or idealistic people to come in with fresh ideas but then instead of doing anything, the people in power sit around saying stuff like "oh we can't do that, its never been done before". Yeah no shit, that's why we should do it. "Well we don't have the research", yes you do, you hired me to do it. "Well lets wait and see if other communities/organizations do something similar", and then nothing happens. You'd be amazed how little some non-profits or government programs actually do, while some that do help a lot literally rot to the ground. I'm currently doing a research study taking place at a shelter that's literally shifting off of its foundation into the ground. It would cost the city (who's ultimately footing the bill either way) more to demolish it than it would to help them repair the foundation.

Fuck it though, I should sit at my computer and make shitty lofi beats and masturbate.

really unlikely since they don't do drugs
