Why is it such a highly praised album? It has some great ones like WMGGW, HIAWG, and BITU, but 3/4 of the tracks are absolute swing and miss, overall being an incoherent album artistically speaking, with the majority of it being a lackluster attempt for new sound

It's praised for being so raw, so messy, and such a snapshot of The Beatles as they were falling apart. It's each of the three main songwriters discovering their own tastes and trying to go their own ways. It's not perfect. On the contrary, it's a complete mess, and that's why it's interesting. It's fascinating to see such a usually perfectionist band get so messy.
