What the fuck happened to this show? At first it was intense finding out who killed Laura Palmer, but now I don't know what the fuck is going on.

Did David Lynch just lose direction?

I fucking hated it, I didn't understand why I was supposed to care about a whore that got killed by her possessed by "bob" father

Why do you assume you're supposed to care about Laura, anyway?

The point of the show is that everybody is a fucking cunt, but not everyone is a cunt all the time. Everybody has flaws, but also some good in them. Only Cooper is a shining bastion of love and acceptance even him is shown to be corruptible by evil in the right circumstances.

Yup, I literally stopped watching it in the episode after the murderer was revealed. It just so out of place, everything.

Just finished episode 2 . What am I in for?

Do some reading on what was happening behind the scene and keep a close eye on who is directing each episode. There was a lot of fuckery going on with time slots being changed, actors unhappy about the direction the show was going (mainly Flynn Boyle who was thought she was supposed to be the star of the whole thing and didn't want an Audrey-Coop romance), letters from people angry about the lack of resolution on the Laura Palmer murder etc.

A wonderful first season, a terrible second one with some amazing moments, then a divisive prequel movie, then a third season that will hopefully make 25 years of waiting worth it.

It's really good, but around the middle of season two you start to get confused as to where the plot is going.

Cooper is a fucking bro

THIS

Flynn and Cooper fucked up the whole second season; they were banging at the time, because they both said no to Aubrey being the love interest. The whole plot of the second season was supposed to revolve around Aubrey and Cooper, and his past. All the side characters were never meant to have their stories resolved.

yikes

Should I even finished season two?

Cooper is now a deputy, the general is investigating aliens or some shit, James is fucking some rich dudes wife, Andy and this /fa/ggots Nicky are cucking it out over Lucy, I mean what the fuck

Yes, if only for the last episode. There's also a great scene, a dialogue between Bobby and his father that I think is worth seeing. The problem is exactly that with the first season, there are awful plots for characters like James that you have to power through to get to the occasional gem.

I'd recommend start watching something else on the side and hopping back to TP occasionally, just for one episode.

I wish someone out there would edit an eight episode season 2.

It does get really bad, but then pretty good again. Not season 1 good, but good good.

I stopped watching midway through in the episode after the murder was revealed. It feels way too fucking off. Cooper was saying his goodbyes, everything was going smooth and then fucking those two agents come and fuck the whole episode up. I say finish it just for the sake continuity.

What is the point of Nadine having super strength and amnesia? It's the weirdest side plot in the whole show. I'm halfway through season 2.

Just finished the ep where they revealed the killer. Is it worth it to continue? I've heard there's a lot of retarded relationship melodrama and I don't think I can take too much more.

It was Fox's fault, not Lynch's. They forced the reveal of Laura's murderer too early and vetoed many of his proposed directions for the show, which would have been far darker and surreal. Watch the movie for a taste of what that would have been like.

Take a break and finish it up later, because it gets really shitty. There's a huge drop in quality.

He didn't have any direction in the first place.

Aside from DUDE SURREALISM AND HICKS LMAO

there's a huge drop in quality until about episode 17/18 where it starts getting good again, and then the finale is Pilot-level good. Then you have the movie Fire Walk With Me as well

There's no point. Lynch is just stuck in the adolescent "randomness is funny" mindset.

We're not sure, the casting list has caused problems and it's seems to be leaky

>Sup Forums hates twin peaks now
this board just keeps getting worse and worse, you might as well all start posting bbc porn

I don't think anyone hates it, they just note a drop in quality.

Newfriends with different tastes are getting to know it, it's ok.

>Being this new

Sup Forums has always disliked the second season, faggot.

studio interference

"SOLVE THE MURDER" they said

"ffs, okay goddamnit, wtf do we do now" says David Lynch

I think he just kinda bounced and let the crew figure out the rest of S2

So who's objectively the best girl?

Shelly

first one out the gate. show's over folks.

People like to blame the network, and it is partially their fault for their meddling. However, right after the killer is revealed David and Mark abandoned the show for other projects which resulted in all the pointless filler you're seeing now. They come back for the last episode which is great, and they planned to become completely involved again in season 3. Too little too late unfortunately.

So fucking hyped for the new season. Considering Lynch is involved in every episode and they're free to basically do whatever they want because Showtime (and the fit everyone threw when Lynch initially walked) pretty much guarantees it's going to be amazing.

Pretty happy about Watts and Dern being in it too.

Do you guys think David Lynch fucked any of the girls?

Did David direct much this time around? How many episodes do you think they've finished?

Lynch is directing everything. And supposedly it's going to be shot all as one thing and then cut into episodes after that so we (as viewers) probably won't know how many episodes there will be until close to its air date.

When was Shelly a cunt ?
Sure, she cheated her husband, but only because he treated her bad.
Shelly is live. Shelly is best.

*Shelly is love

iirc, aside from Lara Flynn Boyle fucking everything up, Lynch was off filming Wild at Heart during the last half of S2, so he wasn't especially involved. First season and a half is still some of the best television ever made.

>And supposedly
That'Ll be unusual then

Filming ended a while ago too. So to answer your question they've finished all the episodes. I don't know why we still have to wait till Q2 2017 for it to start airing. They haven't even released any trailers besides the one with the actors talking either.

>Filming ended a while ago too.
How queer.

Buying a lumberjack shirt and some unlaced dms

Second half of season 2 is great, there is no drop in quality, you faggots wouldn't be complaining if that second half was a whole other season, the arc just takes a turn that's it. Plebs.

Just finished the show and movie, which show should I jump into next lads, the wire or the sopranos?

It's more retarded soap opera without Lynch on it. How is that a good thing? The only thing good about it is CW Horne.

Wyndom Earl carried it on perfectly.

all of them

He was just making it up as he went along

Or he was busy filming Wild at heart and return only to direct last episode

more coffee

What was the movie like?

Right. Why?

I'd say Sopranos, since there's a similar but more subtle element of the supernatural in that show.

I watched the first season and really liked it. You even find the killer. Then some alien shit happened and I just didn't give a fuck 2bh. Not saying it was bad but the tone changes and the mystery gets convoluted.

This is why.

Yeah the second season was terrible for some reason. The direction was unclear. Didn't really know wtf was going on. The ending was weird.

that's not even a question

>i watched the first season and really liked it. You even find the killer

what? you discovered in the end of season 1 that based mr palmer killed laura?

There was lodges, why is Cooper in a red waiting game room? Did it have enough to keep churning over? That's where it gets fun because when the braining eliminates the killer . . . Everyone could then start playing

Swishing about in hotel lobbies

You are all faggots, the last half of s2 was still great

I made this some months ago when I was obsessed with Twin Peaks.
Cut out the scenes I couldn't stand.
(8 'episodes', each ~1.5 hrs)

The Wire is a far better show than Talianmemers.

wow cheers.

hope this isnt dolphin porn

Hmh... there's something really weird going on. In this short clip she's classically and stunningly beautiful in every way.

In modern movies whenever someone is naked there's an extremely slutty and perverse vibe.

nope no dolphin porn included

Wire is literally the best tv show ever. I'm actually watching sopranos after finishing the wire a couple months back. It feels like a step down but its still pretty good.

is this anything like Mulholland drive? where they have a stupid mystery and raises questions that never get answered?

who is the grill?

...

Yeah, the last couple of episodes are great.
There's a lot of filler content, but most of it isn't too bad and does tie into the rest of the plot.
Except any story that only concerns Donna and/or James. Skip James shitty love-triangle subplot. That is by far the worst subplot of the entire show and you have to put up with the meladrama that accompanies James scenes and James is such a cunt.

Her super strength is already there before she tries to an hero. In an early episode she bends her metal exercise thing.
It's just one of those 'Lynch things' that never gets expanded upon.
Like the disgusting looking hospital food.

>Why do you assume you're supposed to care about Laura, anyway?

Probably because every episode ends with this:

>Did David Lynch just lose direction?
He didn't direct the second season except the first (I think) and last episodes and Laura's killer wasn't supposed to be a mid-season reveal, the network forced it.

It had great parts (everything involving Coop, Confederate Ben Horne, Dick and Andy becoming best buds) but it also had some really fucking shitty parts (everything involving James, that stupid shit with Nadine, Billy fucking Zane). It's worth viewing but it's just not as good as season 1 and the first half of season 2.

not him, but I'm in the same situation. Loved the first season and the first quarter of the second, but know it's getting boring. I'll go for it and enjoy the finale.

keep going

>Did David Lynch just lose direction?
network wanted him to actually give away the killer by the end of season 1, it's about pressure.
when planning season 3 with showtime he actually dropped out and said the project was cancelled once because he didn't want this to happen again and only got back on the track once showtime granted him artistic freedom

Audrey

I liked season 2.

that southern girl who married that old guy

What the fuck was up with the whole Josie being turned into a dresser knob? Scared the shit out of me.

It's like the log lady's husband being the log

what?

Josie being turned into an unianimated knob confirms that the log lady's husband was turned into the log.

I dropped this a couple of episodes into season 2. I was enjoying the mystery but the fucking soap opera drama was getting to me at that point. Did Audrey ever end up fucking her dad? I felt like it was going to happen.

her spirit was sent to the wood.

Wouldn't Over the Garden Wall fit better with that sentence

i dont have an image of that mashup

I have to go now, Audrey. My planet needs me.

The best thing about Season 2 is the last episode, which totally gets the show back on track and prepares you for Fire Walk With Me, which is pure fucking kino. But other than that, S2 is soap opera garbage.

The show was supposed to be Blue Velvet the TV show: about the seedy underbelly of a small town, with Cooper being the POV character who gets drawn into the town while investigating the murder of the local good girl with a shady as fuck past.

Laura's murderer was never supposed to be revealed but just be a plot device to fuck up the lives of everyone in town to get the real stories going.

Lynch never wanted to reveal who killed Laura and yet ABC demanded he do so as a condition for him getting a second season greenlighted.

Said second season was also around 22 episodes (standard season length) whereas the first season of Twin Peaks was around nine episodes long. Because of this, they had to do a LOT of padding to fill out the episode order while also fulfilling ABC's demand that they reveal the killer in time for November sweeps. They also had to rewrite parts of season two due to the above mentioned Audrey/Cooper romance being vetoed by Laura Flynn Boyle, who was dating Kyle MacLauchlan at the time and the creation of Annie as a replacement love interest.

Because of this, Lynch effectively checked out of the whole series; he did the first third of season two to wrap up the Laura Palmer murder, then washed his hands of the show and let his collaborator take over as show runner. Lynch only returned for the season two finale as favor to the network, who were furious that the ratings tanked during season two as a ratings ploy.

Then the show was canceled and yet, because there was demand for closure given how season two ended on a cliffhanger, Lynch was offered a movie "finale" to wrap shit up. Lynch agreed in exchange for complete creative control over the project, which went from a grand finale to a prequel focusing on Laura's last week/interlude with Chris Fucking Isaac (who was hired when the actor who played Cooper only agreed to come back for the film in a limited role)

Lynch has also implied that they are going to troll us fans with the actual release schedule/episode length.

Meaning that we may get super sized (hour and a half/two hour) length episodes along with hour long ones, along with the notion that they may space out the episodes, like one new episode a month or every couple of months.

Agent Cooper

true

Yeah it's very bad between the time they solve who killed Laura Palmer and the last episode. I would say even just skip to the end honestly, it sucks. The guy they picked to play Cooper's arch-nemesis is terribly cast and some of the side plots like the war over control of the mill are just pointless.

All I could think about everytime it cuts to my nigga james

for what purpose?

fuck all the other blue numbered cucks before and after me annie is was and always will be best girl, but replacement naked donna from the movie was hot as shit too

...
