Dunkirk

They can't make any World War II movies about British victories, so they made one about them losing and running for their lives.

We aren't so insecure that every film we ever make about history has to be about some cheesy glorious victory. That's yank tier.

Brits got BTFO'd lmao, shame that more of them didn't die

Be careful with those edges

maanpetturi kys

:DD

can we make a movie about us surrendering and the vichy regime since that's the trend?

But it's a good film.

A movie about el-alamein would have been cooler desu

Better than burger "war is hell" bullshit where the germans are pictured as overpowered quadruple digit iq uber-killers, to make the glorious victory on the western front look even more GLORIOUS.
dog bless.

>dfw i used to love and admire the flick saving private ryan

American contribution to WW2:
1. Shitting themselves in their trenches in the ardennes while Britain and Russia won
2. rebuilding Germany with the tax money of the people who people who survived their "military" """operations"""

please stop being so edgy

1. United States defeated Japan
2. United States supplied Britain and Russia

Think about 1940. Britain did nothing but hide on their island playing defense and pray Russia or the United States would come bail them out of their decision to declare war on Germany.

it's actually true. The only real contribution was their third world quality steel exports to Russia so they could zerg rush. Americans were culturally and technologically ~20 years behind everyone else in 1940

How many blacks there would be in this movie?
How about women soldiers?

>heu fug murica for rebuilding us
Edge

Literally, UK, NZ and Australia have a culture of remembering the fallen and the plight of war while the US has this cancerous culture of glorifying war and their victories while forgetting the losses.

wow, new GOT episode soon, fellow redditors.

What about black soldiers?

/deutsch/land stark

? I dont speak your dumb language. House Stark is almost dead btw. Hope I didn't spoiler you

Are these americans?

Yes, they're U.S. soldiers.

>Two black American soldiers with special artillery ammo for Hitler. Photo was taken on March 10, 1945, during the Battle of Remagen.

Pretty sure there's a movie about the battle of britain
And the British helped in the invasion if Italy and the battle of france just as much as you did maybe even a bit more

Ahhh grenate! Aus Aus Aus Fritzinger!
>zehn germans killed with a single grenade

when you guys play video games do you feel sad knowing that you're shooting your own kind in the head?

But in burger movies krauts are the ultimate cannonfodder who explode into tiny pieces when righteous american warrior looks in their general direction.

No, just like Americans have no problems shooting christian burgers in bioshock infinite or farcry 5, because we are not retarded and know that nazis and germans are not the exact same thing.

Yeah because movies like private ryan are 2 hour cakewalks

>nazis and germans are not the exact same thing

German tries to make a joke.

Good WW2 games feature both axis and allied campaigns.

Those aren't easter eggs.

We love to make movies about our lost battles

Yes but everytime american dies it is because some dirty underhanded trick by krauts. Even in the end they have to massively outnumber them to win.

I recognize your autism.
Did a german fuck your what if girlfriend or are you just trying to be an asshole?

>country that never faced total war on their soil talking shit about one that actively engaged in two world wars from the very beginning

I am a greek

True Greek would write the word Greek with a capital letter, subhuman.
I am a Greek

Nah u just a nazi pig.

OP is a buttblasted plastic Paddy and Naziboo. I can always recognize his posts as he goes into autistic trades about how Britain is Satan incarnate

Stay butthurt

Why did Britain declare war on Germany anyway, who cares about fucking Poland lol

Better smash competition before it becomes too powerful

>get your ass kicked by the Nazis
>have to leave all your gear while you evacuate your troops with everything that floats
>Nazis kind enough not to massacre you on the beaches

>Pretty sure there's a movie about the battle of britain

Yeah the 1969 film, pretty good. I've heard the aerial dog fights in this Dunkirk film are great, would like a new BoB film if that's the case.

You forgot the part where they win

Also the Dam Busters film is good.

>immediately start blaming the French
>make jokes about how they are cowards for getting defeated by the same enemy that defeated you
>claim an embarrassing defeat was actually a victory
>sit back and let daddy America win the war for you
>still lose your entire empire in the process
>continue to make propaganda about it three quarters of a century later

>nazis and germans are not the exact same thing
yeah, i've also heard about this theory

TWO WARS ONE CUP REEEEEEE

>>immediately start blaming the French

Well yeah, who else is to blame for letting the country of France become overrun by Germans within days and weeks.

Mocking me online won't make your NEET day better, Pierre Abdol

well why dont people say all russians were bolsheviks? why do people sympathise with russian people as them being victims of bolshevik regime and comissars executing them if you showed antirevolutionary behavior, akin to the gestapoand regular wehrmacht soldiers?

Maybe because 90% of German people voted for Hitler in 1933?

>implying americans could even tell
they don't even celebrate easter

casting a democratic vote doesnt make you a party member. Besides hitler did a lot of good for the german economy during his first 3-4 years.

this, the battles of dieppe, vimy ridge, the somme, and d-day are all known to canadians because of the extreme losses we suffered

war holidays are about remembering the loss and sacrifice, not about the victory

>not the exact same thing

someone's got their lederhosen on a little tight

Why would you use this image to try and back your point up. This is literally proof that USA's role in the war has been overstated over time by American brainwashing

One would think the French would be responsible for the defense of France.
It was not a victory, it was a total rout. But we honour not just the victory, but the bravery, sacrifice and determination in defeat also.

>ww2 film from every nation but USA
>just young lads doing their jobs on both sides, wars bad for everyone, every part played was important to the war effort, remember the horror and honour the fallen by ensuring such a war never happens again

>USA ww2 film
>Flag in every scene, faint humming of the star spangled banner all the way through, mention the French surrender at least once every 5 minutes, Brits are pussys, ALL Germans are nasty babykillers, other countries not worth mentioning, ends with "we did it boys we won the war all by ourselves, GOD BLESS THE US OF A", credit song is literally just clapping

saving private ryan IMO is the only exception to the american stereotype there, but yeah, pretty spot on

do you know any good german ww2 films that highlight the slow demoralization and material deterioration of the nazis?

>ending of a winter war movie
>soviet soldiers and finnish soldiers sing around a bonfire and rejoice they dont have to kill each other anymore

Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of our Fathers were quite good

Also not WW2 but Gettysburg

:DDDXddXD

haven't seen it, but I heard that "unsere mütter unsere väter" (generation war) is pretty good

>tfw looking into the winter war
>finnish machine gunners had to be replaced just due to the mental damage that killing thousands of people running right at you would do
jesus christ
will look into it, danke

god you're a dumb cunt

Imo it's a bit too moralizing with a lot of questionable stuff like Germans being bff with a Jew like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Das Boot remains the best WW2 film from German view, it portrays soldiers just doing their job and being lads in a Band of Brothers fashion while still showing their human side, for example when they have to leave Brit sailors to drown,or the super nazi officer when he reveals that his fiance was killed in a bomb attack. Internationally acclaimed by critics too, very manly film.

There are several versions btw, watch the "German TV mini series" one, not the Directors Cut.

>Britain did nothing but hide on their island

Hundreds of thousands of British soldiers still lay buried on European soil thanks to conflicts during the 20th century alone, leave off the silliness m8.

es ist sehr gut Fritz ja genau!

Civil War was on U.S. soil and killed 620,000 Americans (more than any other war in U.S. history, and more deaths than Britain had during the Second World War).

Yes that was a massive contribution to WW2, thanks America

Hollywood
pls hear my pray
i want a WW2 movie about North Africa Front

Das Boot is the best because the german sailors were fucking hot

>Those sweaty bodies
>Dat facial hair

Umfff

>nazis and germans are not the exact same thing.
Not all Germans were Nazis, but every Nazi was German. Almost every.

...

>highlight the slow demoralization and material deterioration of the nazis
Stalingrad or Der Untergang. Untergang shows how some high-ranking German official like Albert Speer disappointed in Hitler after he ordered to destroy entire German infrastructure to "wipe out the Germans", or how German officers were shocked after Goebbels said that "German youth exists only to die in the war for our goals".

Pretty much every vietnam war film is the opposite of "cheesy glorious victory", the same for iraq war films. Even though we beat the shit out of saddam in less than a month.

Would've the British Empire survived if it weren't for Japanese involvement in WWII?

No

But what about glorifying the heroes? It shows the extent of sacrifices people have made to ensure the protect their home.

A war has many special stories. From the Gallipoli campaign, to the Arabian Campaign where Lawrence of Arabia came about, to the jungle terrain of Guadalcanal. It's more than just guns and conflict, it's also where people band closest together, when the Arabian King came to accept Lawrence as not only an ally but a Brother, when Britain clinched that teeth against the German bombing and where soldiers cried for their lost brothers in arms.

We must both remember the losses and the triumphs. War is when both people are most polarised and most bonded together as well.

>yank WW2 movie
>dday because thats the online relevant battle the yanks fought in
>yanks are the only ones there because apparently leafs and brits didn't fight in dday

Thanks for Rome, goy.

He massively overspent to the point where the only way to pay for shot was to invade other countries and steal their shit.

The only good US movies about WW2 has Clint Eastwood connected to them oetz.

>What about black soldiers?
