Yes, I think so. However, when you say "conquer", that isn't the same as "govern". The United States, if we felt like it, could declare war on all of Central and South America, smash them in less than a year, and not fire a single nuke. The problem is ruling the place in the aftermath.

You're confusing a war with an occupation. The US could comfortably defeat every other country in "the Americas". The issue is whether or not we could rule it, I believe we can't.
