People have been talking about dreams, so I guess I might throw one in too.
A few months back I had a dream where I was floating in a white light. It was so bright I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. It was like being in pitch black but with light--you couldn't see through it at all. I was frozen still, and after a few moments of trying to move, a voice started talking to me.
The tone was level, but it was so loud that I could feel the sound as much as I could hear it. The sound went through me--the closest approximation I can think of in any kind of media is Sovereign from Mass Effect, if you were literally standing right next to it. The voice was so loud and so powerful that I started feeling this raw, lizard hind-brain sense of animal terror. Like, piss your pants and drop dead from fright terror. This thing was massive and horrifying and the sound of its voice had me screaming in fear. It felt evil beyond words.
When it spoke, it only repeated one thing over and over:

No matter how much I screamed and told it no, it never changed its tone, never got angry. It just kept repeating it, like it could wear me down by sheer force of will. Like it was going to command and disobedience was unthinkable.
I woke up aching all over and soaked in sweat, and I tried to put it out of my mind. I completely forgot about it until I saw anons talking about dreams.
