There's nothing wrong with being proud of your ancestry, though. Many people from many backgrounds display pride, it's why holidays such as St. Patrick's Day are celebrated in the United States for example. A lot of the posts I've seen so far in this thread are brazenly unscientific; no, celebrating your heritage does not mean you are a loser who has nothing else to show off. If anything, having knowledge of your ancestry shows that you are a person who is far more knowledgeable than the average joe and the fact you were willing to look into it in the first place clearly demonstrates that you are not an apathetic, nihilistic weirdo (unlike most posters ITT)

There's been "white" people in Americas for 450 years and they are still not called Native-Americans. There's been "white" people in Australia for 400 years and they are still not called Aboriginals.
