pretty disappointed in it. I did the writing/vocals, but theres something unattractive about my delivery, and the production sorta fell through, I feel
digging the vibe and the sampling

the first seconds caught me, but the singer kinda turned me off. The quieter parts gave it a nice dynamic and I liked the shoegazy guitar
structure at the end. With the singer, he's not bad, he just triggered the feeling of someone trying to sound like other musicians.
So, nothing I would buy, but go to in a club? sure.
2/5
Nice gig. But please get some extra musicians. And stop (freely) improvising. Yeah, it was radical in the 50s Jazz and 70s Rock and it's awesome when you're stoned. But ultimately 2 Guys who aren't professionals improvising for over an hour is not that interesting to listen to if you weren't involved.
Hey that's cool. Most folks don't really dig my voice, but it is what it is. Thanks fr the listen.
some cool ideas, but it just feels too unrehearsed for me.
Jam Sandwiches was ok. It didn't really feel like it was pushing anything tho. IDK you do you

Rec, really nice stuff!

wish i could, we get to meet up 3x a year due to uni splitting us up quite far so we can't really do much more than improvise a gig. It was record --> come up with drum pattern or throw some chords --> this fits --> k lets see where this goes --> stop recording. I'm on the same boat that I'd rather write something instead of just improv the whole time. Regarding the actual sound, any feedback there besides "nice"?
it was unrehearsed, thanks for the feedback, I may ask my friend to pick out the good set of tracks and shorten it out so its more cleaned up.
frankly, the internet is so full with hip-hop instrumentals I don't even care anymore. I mean I love the stones throw scene but after hundreds of playlists it becomes just elevator music really.
Your welcome, but of course I was just listening to that one song, so I can't really tell. you have something on yt or sc?
meant for
this is kinda a personal issue it sounds better if you sample drum breaks from records.
yeah, i got that.
well, the sound isn't the important thing in this case. It is hearable, the room sounds comfortably dry, you can hear every impulse and therefore concentrate on whats going on. But the music doesn't really tell a story, which is what 'psychedelic' demands.
But if it's just a for fun thing, you shouldn't care about the product and enjoy playing together.
I dont use breaks because i am a drummer and enjoy tweaking and creating my own flow.
well it sounds better because it gives off a old-school buttery feel to it
yeah, I've got my previous album up on YT

it's a different vibe
Yeah fair enough but that just comes down to a matter of opinion like you said before. I occasionally when i am bored get breaks and match them with sample but once you learn how to BPM match, it becomes really simple to do.
Using beat pads to make a drum loop with a sample is much more satisfying to do as well as let you be more creative with what you want to achieve. I do agree that the sound is better because it is already a mixed drum beat and wont sound jarring in anyway when used.

lovely album cover, been some time since i listened to chill beats like this so it was very nice to experience that
i think the idea is very cool, but you guys can improve on some stuff....the drums could be better mixed on the final track so it could be more immerse into the other instruments.
I get the influence tho, very captain beefheart trout mask replica-ish

I'm still learning to record properly so I'm aware most of my drafts posted are pretty poorly done, but I'll entually redo them and add vocals and percussion to everything.
