Meat Puppets II and Up On The Sun is such an incredible 1-2 punch. I'll never find anything that sounds like them.
Meat Puppets are fucking great
DOWN IN THE VALLEY THERE'S AN ANIMAL KINGDOM
Glad to see you here, fellow patricians.
Shut up fag, you're not ''patrician'' for liking Meat Puppets. It's not as fucking obscure and cool as you think it is. Great fucking album though, just stop being a special snowflake about it.
I've never seen this album being posted.
Great album. You a fan of The Reverend, OP?
>that one amazing album that a forgotten semi-popular 90s band made back when they were still unknown, thus making it doubly forgotten
This but unironically
The meat faggots are boring as fuck
Best country album of the '90s coming through
II is literally my favorite album but i just can't get into most of what up on the sun has to offer, it's often a bit too whimsical and prog-rocky for my taste
...
Never heard of them. Are they anything like Meat Puppets?
>using "boring" as criticism
This, everyone knows the Meat Puppets.
their next album was better, but still, c'mon, there were better band at their time with similar sound
...
Meat Puppets were nothing but hacks who made shitty alt-country-punk and had one Top 40 radio grunge hit

This and Mystical Shit are great.
I AM THE RESURRECTION AND I AM THE LIGHT
I DON'T HAVE TO SELL ME SOUL, HE'S ALREADY IN ME
I've always wondered if theres a casting couch subtext to that song
Everybody knows meat puppets ya nigger. That one in particular is underrated though.
:^)

Well no shit sherlock, but what if the "devil" is fucking him in the ass
You're either a massive fan or never heard of them. No in-between
kek
Explain
I saw them with Motörhead
This is a great record. Downloaded it about three months ago or so.
>I spoke to the forest
>I spoke to the trees
>I spoke to the river
>But it did not speak to me
>I carved your name
>In the cypress tree bark
>I tattooed your name
In a ring round my heart
>I wore out my welcome
>I wore out myself
>I wore out my reason
>I wore out my health
I listened to most of Shimmy Discs catalog recently.

because it's so boooooooring.
lol
I know some people who are way into Snarky Puppy and I've listened to a lot of their stuff as a result. The only song that grabbed me with any sort of longevity was Lingus, and 99% of that song is a forgettable snoozefest. That lead melody bit that comes in a couple times is great, and the rest sounds like a shitty neo-western soundtrack. The keyboard solo in particular is so fucking egregious. Seven minutes of a dude playing literally fuck-all, just mashing keys like the synth equivalent of a delusional teenage shredder in a Guitar Center, completely thoughtless masturbation, and people act like Corey Henry is some deified being behind a keyboard. It's the Rick and Morty/Big Bang Theory -- stupid people listen to it and think they're smart because of it.
I never see anyone talking about this band or this album.
underrated meat puppets album
