What are your favourite progressive metal albums?

Sorry to be such a plebe but mine are AEnima and Lateralus, never heard anything better than that as far as prog metal is concerned. I absolutely love Disposition/Reflection. If you can recommend music as good as that I'd be grateful.

Why did Pitchfork gave a 1.9/10 to that album?

I know they are pretentious plebs and that Lateralus isn't anything special, but it's at least a 7/10. A 1.9/10 seems really unfair

Disposition/reflection has been stuck in my head all day. Any recs based on those songs? I'm very familiar with entire tool discog btw

I love those albums and songs too. To be honest I can't recommend anything as good as far as prog metal is concerned. Youre better off just listening to the rest of Tools discog or APC

I get a similar vibe from Have a Nice Life though.

Frances the Mute - Mars Volta
Blackwater Park - Opeth
Portal of I - Ne Obliviscaris
Colors - Between the Buried and Me
Crack the Skye - Mastodon

Lucky for you, they have an entire review that details exactly why they gave the album the score it received.

They also gave Frances the Mute a 2.

The Lateralus review literally says nothing negative about the album

>8 minute proto nu metal songs
>progressive

>2001
>proto nu-metal
user it's okay to be retarded

>inb4 muh wank

>implying the music on Lateralus is different from any of these albums
