A few months back, I started a thread about tier 2 shows and we generated a good list, so I want to give it another go.
I'm weary with people arguing over whether The Sopranos or The Wire is the best show ever, or threads pushing pop hits like GoT or the latest sensation like Stranger Things.
I want to know what your Tier 2 shows are. Shows that, despite not being perfect, reliably deliver comfy entertainment. Mine:
Longmire The X-Files Brotherhood Burn Notice Hell on Wheels The Affair Stargate Atlantis
Comedies welcome, also. Beyond all the big names, I haven't ventured too far into comedic television.
Ryan Gonzalez
Recitfy would probably fit into tier 2 along with The Young Pope
Jayden Cox
Fiona: Y/N?
Aiden Ward
Cool, this is the first time I'm hearing of Rectify. I'll have to check it out
Kayden Taylor
Adding Lie to Me to the list.
Grayson Gutierrez
It finished recently so I'd imagine it to get a lot more attention. Definitely one of the better series of this decade.
Asher Ward
No list is complete without Psych.
Leo Roberts
Black Mirror The Americans Rick and Morty The Eric Andre Show Hannibal Bates Motel
Kayden Flores
Southland
Ryan Collins
some more entertaining but flawed shows
True Detective Broadchurch Westworld Fargo Peaky Blinders House of Cards
Isaiah Reyes
I was really sick a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to watch S4 of House of Cards. That show has really run off the rails.
Alexander Harris
My Current Tier 2 and Tier 3 Show:
>Tier 2 Bosch Broadchurch Death In Paradise Grantchester Hap and Leonard iZombie Morse - Endeavour Teen Wolf The 100 The Americans Z Nation
>Tier 3 12 Monkeys Dark Matter DCW shows, Arrow etc Elementary Game of Thrones Lucifer MCU - Daredevil Orphan Black Supernatural The Vampire Diaries & The Originals
The Badlands and The Expanse are pretty good new shows
Jeremiah Thompson
Bosch
Carter Cox
Person of Interest is a good one. Network TV show, starts off seeming like typical CBS crime procedural, turns into something so much more. It ended just this year, but had a very satisfying ending.
Henry Anderson
The Expanse. Top toer sci-fi.
Jordan Lopez
Hell on Wheels is textbook tier two for me. Frustrating how it never managed to become truly great, it was a fun setting.
Chase Turner
The Young Pope is easily tier 1.
Julian Gutierrez
Longmire is gonna get cucked by the comedy relief. She's already pregnant with that fuckup's kid. How the fuck did this happen?
Brandon Peterson
So is Rectify. So is The Shield.
Andrew Gray
Spartacus The Expanse Legend of the Seeker Black Sails
Austin Jenkins
never liked her, michael could do better.
I suggest psych and reaper, along with burn notice they're the holy trinity of comfy shows for me
Jeremiah Young
I thought the Amazon original Alpha House wasn't bad. I really like John Goodman though.
Connor Moore
Season 3 never ever
Leo Campbell
Good thread OP.
Bob’s Burgers Homeland The Americans The Leftovers The Good Wife Treme
Asher Adams
I'm a big fan of Dollhouse, the premise is really interesting and while the execution may be flawed at some points, both seasons turn it up to 11 at the midway point and become an intensely enjoyable rollercoaster ride with tons of entertainment and twists.
Plus it has some god tier characters, especially Topher.
Aaron White
Justified, niggas.
Thomas Reyes
Yeah, that was an odd turn. Maybe that visiting deputy is the father?
Alexander Phillips
I love Justified, its a tier one for me.
James Sullivan
Rectify is tier 1
it's just too patrician to be popular
Lincoln Wilson
Goliath Southland
Cooper Rivera
I love it as well but it definitely has a few issues namely a kinda weak first season (apart from the first episode and the last stretch) where they were still finding their ground, and the second-to-last season which was a bit meh
It's either on the top of Tier 2 or in the lower stretches of Tier 1 - either way if any of you guys haven't seen it yet you should jump on it.
Tyler Flores
Fair enough. I'd place it in the latter category, as it's flaws are few and far between.
Brandon Perry
Pretty much any british heavy drama cop show I'll at least give a shot.
Ranking from top to bottom for whats on netflix >River is actually great >Luther is great but is getting progressively noticeably worse >Happy Valley S1 is awesome, 2 is meh >The Killing is good until they solve the first mystery >The fall starts well and goes to shit >Broadchurch is okay >Marcella is good in theory but actually shit >Paranoid is an abc family drama disguised as a cop show
I dare you to fight me on these
Matthew Cooper
The Shield is God tier
Kevin Cooper
Mob City Deutschland 83 Fortitude The Last Kingdom The Killing Helix Kingdom
