>pedals convert analog to digital, process sound, then convert digital to analog again >this happens potentially dozens of times
Isn't there loss of quality doing this?
Landon Walker
Tell me more about your 300 dollar digital multi-effects pedal.
Christian Evans
I ordered a custom guitar from a local luthier. Took 8 weeks to finish up and it's all fucking wrong.
I wanted a burst from trans red to trans orange on an alder body. I can't pick out any orange from it. The guy said it's there and I just can't see it. I told him it's like ordering a vintage burst and getting a black guitar instead but he's having none of it.
This cost me $1,800. He said he'd refund me the total less 20% for his time.
Who's in the wrong here?
Lucas Adams
>Steve Vai's 10 hour workout Anybody actually done this? Is it legit?
Adam Long
La cucaracha, but change the lyrics to this: "La cumotarra, la cumotarra looks, smells and plays like cum. La cumotarra, la cumotarra Ugliest shit on Sup Forums."
Justin Reyes
Actually practicing that long is for losers. Take it from me, you only need to practice about 20 minutes a day.
Ryder Reyes
you for not just buying a strat
Noah Hughes

Isaiah Fisher
Which guitar manufacturers have you used and can vouch for? What about ones you'd advise to avoid? I'm going to buy my first guitar soon and don't have brand loyalty (yet).
Samuel Bennett
Post pictures. Did you check his work before? You should ask him for the paint values and recipes, he should have them. Paint jobs like that will never be like you imagine, unless the guy can replicate a job he has done before.
Brody Reed
Buy a Gibson, they're the best. Just ignore anyone who tells you to buy from another company, only Gibson makes quality instruments.
Charles Jenkins
>Fender After owning MIM and MIJ, I can say Fender just feels right. Their necks are great and they're all around comfortable to play. But to be honest, their pickups (at least stock) are pretty shite. Great bodies, only decent electronics for the price.
>Godin Seriously undervalued. If you spend $500, expect it to match, say, $2000 Fender or Gibson. They don't hold value, though, so once you buy one, its resale price is at most like 60% of what you paid for. They play things safe though and only make pretty standard stuff, but they do it very well.
>BC Rich I only used a Mockingbird but I liked it. Great necks and finishes, their shapes are ugly IMO but it might be for you. Decent value for money.
>Epiphone Hit or miss. Sometimes you get something great, but a lot of times it's trash. Korean Epiphone is pretty good but most of the shit you can buy today is Chinese.
Jonathan Wilson
Yes. Some people don’t notice or don’t care. Very few people watching a gig know about it or will be bothered. That said I prefer an all analog signal chain. Digital is also cheaper.
Asher Bell
Your lucky he's refunding anything. Special orders are usally a contract. You ordered it you pay. You have a difference of opinion, not a functional defect.
Isaiah Gray
I play and like Charvel.
Elijah Young
>giving a shit about the color of your guitars God, I fucking hate /gg/ sometimes.
Chase Peterson

>behringer >$300 extra 0 friend

Post a pic
Matthew Gomez
Is the color the only thing wrong with it? Did you fill out some paper work stipulating your exact order?
Can you post pics of guitar?
Maybe take it to small claims court if you have the proper evidence.
Jacob James
Got a boss gt 100, it's pretty great. What would you like to know
Jeremiah Anderson
>Seriously undervalued. If you spend $500, expect it to match, say, $2000 Fender or Gibson. Are you telling me that a Godin Sessions is the same as Fender Elite? Like a retard would say: Poutine vomit.
Dominic Roberts
Yes. But with modern AD/DA's the loss of quality is negligible, and far less than you'd get with a chain of unbuffered analogue pedals.
Brody Martin
Fender is always a given, but I would recommend Guild. I have been a life long Guild fan, from their acoustics to their electrics.
It all comes down to what you want. Play all kinds of guitars before choosing.
Jason Collins
>local luthier
That's where you went wrong. Any asshole can call himself a luthier, only buy from reputable builders, and even then you have to be careful.
>guitarfags >caring about anything other than the look of their instrument Nice joke. The vast majority of people here would rather play a nice looking hunk of firewood than something smooth and perfect sounding if the color was wrong.
And if the SHAPE was wrong? They wouldn't even take it off the rack.
David Anderson
I like when my guitar feels and sounds like an instrument I would actually play because I decorate my walls with paintings, not factory produced monstrosities.
Connor Garcia
Just impulsively bought a Strymon timeline, hopefully its a decent replacement for my DL4
Depends on the wording of the contract. A court could say, if the guitar was not what was ordered, user to give the guitar back (and the luthier to sell it for his own profit), and order the luthier to make a new one (which he would probably not do as good a job on because he'd be pissed).
Easton Ramirez
Whats the hardest/most technical Metallica song?
Andrew Nelson
fade to black
Connor Williams
>and order the luthier to make a new one (which he would probably not do as good a job on because he'd be pissed). lol. Where did you study law? Middle Earth? They are not very hard. Creeping Death has a pretty solo, but Damage Inc has some pretty cool riffs.
Robert Powell
Yes, I'm saying a Godin Session is at least on par with a Fender Elite.
Fender is overpriced anyways and their prices are only going up without cause for it. Give me one innovation Fender has done in the last 10 years (where their Standard lines have nearly doubled in price).
Luis Sanders
are electronics porn tier ?
Ryder Scott
Godin is great but don't kid yourself. I find mine is comparable to entry MIA Fender in build quality and electronics.
John Cooper
>yfw most brands are about to raise prices this year
Luis King
That means that: 1) You haven't played and Elite. 2) You can't play. 3) You don't know what to look on a guitar. I hope is number 1.
Eli Butler
does elites have electronic wiring porn tier ?
Levi Miller
Need bass amp recs. Just using it for practice, since I plan to just record directly into my computer
Lucas Wilson
Just got this guitar.
Juan Collins
I don't understand your lingo.
Julian Lewis
I own a an Elite and Godins are nowhere close. I'd say on par with upper end MIM to American Standards. Exactly.
John Ward
>Need bass amp recs. just buy whatever bass at the pawn shop.
Landon White
The pawn shop I would've gone to burned down along with the only good pho place in town
Jayden Wilson
what it sounds no hidden lingo.
Brandon Wood
How's the fretwork on that?

how cheap is a device that recieves the speaker output onto the pc?
Noah Martin
Thinking about taking some guitar lessons, how much is a reasonable price for a great teacher, also what to look for so I don't get some jagoff
Christopher Murphy
you mean a torpedo /radar/ red box ?
Noah Sanders
Very nice. Honestly this is the best guitar I've ever held; it's so comfy and well made.
I still agree that Godin is undervalued/underrated. My Session Custom was CDN$1000 and the cheapest American Fender is around $1500. I'd say the Godin has a slight edge but honestly, it just illustrates Godin is pretty good for the money desu
William Foster
dont know these names
Oliver Hughes
Get references Am Fender is a lot less in the States, $1100.
Zachary Lewis
In Yurop is better to buy an american vintage (now original) than an Am. They are about the same price, dunno why.
Jayden Hernandez
what do you mean?
Camden Stewart
Canada sucks for guitar pricing. Not only due to the exchange rate.
Godin is the exact same price, though; you guys might pay $1000USD for something we can get for $1000CAD.
Nathan Jackson
What do you guys use to clean your guitars? I have a Jackson King V (rosewood fretboard) and I don't know if using lemon oil, like many people do, is a good or bad idea.
Eli Wood
when the wiring of your guitar make you nut
usually only 5 grands guitar have this.
Austin Price
Yeah, I'd heard that. Over here people buy thier kids expensive gear they never use and it hits the used market which keeps the prices low, you can get barely used Am Standard Strats used for 7-800 bucks
Christian Smith
Get the extension pedal. Really opens up the looper capabilities
Eli Anderson
Lemon oil is a bad idea for the fretboard. It will dry the fretboard out and cause it to crack. I use F-One oil for fretboards.
Camden Sullivan
hello the beast
i use vinager for my fingerboard but only every year
Isaiah Wilson
I've always thought "Disposable Heroes" was pretty tricky, mainly on account of the high speed thrashiness.
Cameron Martin
A microphone?
Colton Lewis
no idiot. the speaker out from the amp. line.
Blake Fisher
I'm fucking ecstatic. My Viper 256 came in today and I absolutely love it. What do you guys recommend for overdrive pedals? I'm looking at the Ibanez Tube Screamer but I'm curious about what you use.
Alexander Sanchez
exactly what i told you a two notes torpedo or a mooer´s radar or a H&K red box.
expensive shit.
Caleb Reed
ah expensive wont mind it then. thanks.
Cameron Perez
>Ibanez Tube Screamer around here we disregard that as obselete shit
get a timmy.
Liam Garcia
This so much.
Grayson White
I do believe it's 10 hours in short bursts user, not in a row.
Carter Brooks
awesome ordering it right now. Does the looper have 30 seconds of time total or is it like the dl4 where you can record in half speed and get 60 seconds?
Thomas Martin
Blink 182 all memes aside. Can anons who actually know shit about guitar (cause I fucking dont) analyze this performance. >youtu.be/QXNW18ZdUhQ I want to know what you guys think about his tone and playing style.
Ethan Bailey
maybe people don't enjoy looking like retards?
Isaiah Wood
Nice
Post more pics
Gavin Wilson
Travis Barker is the band. At least live. The guitar is just doing its job.
Henry Russell
the Cochrane Timmy? I will look more into it. Also the AMT E-1 sounds wonderful too. Wonder if anyone here has personal experience with one.
Nicholas Howard
fun pop punk
I never understand the appeal of frontman drummer in a fucking band setting even in early Blink unless it's actual drum centric band to show off the drummer.
I can understand his appeal as cool full of tattoo punk drummer in early Blink but everyone has tattoos noawadays, don't know if I'm the one who can't relate to them anymore
Nolan Morales
complete dogshit all around
Blake Bell
>AMT E-1 thats a preamp tho.
Joshua Taylor
Caline Pure Sky is a Timmy clone for ~$30; only real differences are no diode selector switches and the tone knobs are traditional cut/boost (neutral at 12 O'clock) instead of cut-only like a Timmy. Same circuitry, same sound otherwise. If you're interested in a real Timmy, getting a Pure Sky to try it out first might be a good idea, especially since the real thing is $130 and usually comes with a long wait between ordering and receiving the pedal since the guy who makes them hand-makes them and they're in high demand.
Connor Diaz
Has anyone ever built a guitar from a kit? I was thinking about doing it but i don't really know what I'm doing. I was thinking about buying the body and the neck together and then buying hardware from somewhere else because I heard hardware and electronics from kits are usually shit. What brands are good and how difficult would it be for someone who hasn't soldered anything since they were 13
Ryder Williams
Wait, there's a difference between a pre-amp and an overdrive? I don't hear too much of a serious difference.
Damn, thanks for this. I'll be sure to consider that, with that great of a price.
Elijah Brown
if you do get an ash kit since the finish of it (satin) is quite rare and then you can resell it fast.
Asher Gomez
I liked mine so much I bought a second. It decidedly doesn't suck. Having an OD pedal which doesn't change your tone (in terms of bass/mids/treble balance) is super great.
Michael Clark
>pre-amp pre amps are the engine and od are a nos.
Usually a preamp have a personality (and is associated to a brand) while the od its the same.
I managed to restring my acoustic guitar for the first time today. It seems silly to feel proud of doing something that is really quite simple but that, getting a practice amp, and actually having fun learning amd practicing is indicative that I'm taking it seriously this time. It feels good anons.
