The melodies on this thing are incredibly uplifting at times.
Can I get recs for more like this? Not necessarily death metal, but any extreme metal that contains sporadic and tasteful use of melody sort of in the way Lykathea do it.

Also Poison is the best track on Welcome to Hell.
One of the finest black metal albums ever conceived, those riffs are insane and Hat's shrieks are some of the best you'll hear in this sub.

Wrong Steeler. US Steeler had Ron Keel (Who was in Sabbath very briefly circa 1984) and is only remembered for being Malmsteen's first pro gig. German Steeler were Axel Rudi Pell's first professional band.
Imagine my surprise when I found Keel and finally realized what song the mail sorter was listening to.

any stoner recommendations with clean vocals?
without a doubt, yes
fucking great
Drmaj.

Of course it's always welcome, but what I meant by it was most of times it's just the vocalist doing it because he wants to, not because he needs to and, when done right, it's fucking great.

Reverend Bizarre and Cough's latest output.
Are there any albums/songs that truly match the power and production value that is Blind Guardian's Mirror Mirror?
I've listened to the album itself and while there are some songs that come close none of them reach the intensity of the song.
Thx in advance plz
Might wanna check early Rhapsody.
>tfw you lost the MetalInjection caption contest AGAIN
Rec me metal with mixed harsh and operatic vocals please. Something like on Mystifier - The World Is so Good...
such is the fate of all soy men who regularly consume millenial anime
Ügh!
that sounds so fucking out of place, holy shit
underrated album.
Great album, though i like the "under the sign of hell - 97" more. Pentagram has good riffs and atmoshphere, but i just cant get over how hat sounds. My honest opinion is that Pest was the best vocalist gorgoroth had, and he truely shows the skills on the - 97 album. Just listen "The devil is calling". He sounds like a fucking chainsaw, compared to hat sounding like a angry frog.
there is literally nothing wrong with sounding like a frog
So if Tony Iommi is the best riff-writer metal has to offer, at least generally regarded as such by the majority, is there any consensus on the second?
pic unrelated
Arghoslent write the best riffs though
nah
but yes

more insane dual vocals like this out there?
falsetto versus growls
nuclear death - bride of insect
Post bands whose vocalist is a frog.
Immortal
Abbath
his speaking voice is ridiculously deep too so idk how his vocals sound like that
crazy female vocals on this. it also reminds me a bit of O.L.D. musically.
>when the d-beats, shredding and vocals hit.

It doesn't matter, singing is completely different from normal talking.
Motörglam when?
Not bad.
oh come on, Sacrilege is one of the underrated good stuff no one really talks about.
>more d-beats

from the early days, maybe adrian smith/dave murray? i dont know, tough one.
my vote for the best riff genius of all time goes to Chelsea

Is this prog metal?
youtu.be
I fucking love this part but I don't know if there is a genre for this (opera vocals + noise).
Hat sounds like a frog? Never thought someone would say that, since he sounds nothing like Abbath or Dagon, he's more closer to sounding like a proper Ringwraith if anything.
Agreed. It's quite unique and has great atmosphere to it, nice tempo changes, tasty synths and killer shreds.
All this time and I didn't even know he died. Within a couple months of Kawakami no less. Just fuck my shit up
he died in 2007.
I'm burned out on metal again. What do you guys listen to when this happens?
Soycore
Either something new or Darkness Descends
...
Dance-punk, post-punk, what I will unhelpfully refer to as indie stuff, maybe some bluegrass, french house, soul or jazz influenced hip hop, nu-disco and future funk.
...
Why not classical?, like say Prokofiev or Schubert?
>tfw neoclassical power metal is dead
Not even the japs are releasing good shit lately
Just listened to pic related, I now need more war metal. Pls gib recs
AOR and prog rock
