It would certainly make much more sense if the average household wouldnt need 2 incomes for 2 people. Most wannabe parents just cant afford a child or wont because otherwise they would need to cut down on their toys.

The "normal" road of life should be school-(eventually university)-job-own house-kids. That would give the most stable and "normal" background for the kids.
