I always thought Portal 1 and 2’s OST were quite nice. Wish the composer had expanded on the ideas present there though, a lot of it feels like there wasn’t enough time to do everything.

Lots of motifs too, plus the procedural music aspect of it was neat.

Symphony Of The Night's soundtrack really hits that sweet spot for me where it's both very catchy but also has subtle somewhat complex elements that makes it engaging to listen to. The whole thing's surprisingly diverse, too.

It sounds like it's some kinda weird psychedelic synth fuckery at start, but it's actually mallet percussion split in two different spots, strings split into two, an electric guitar, and a drum set that's achieving the sound. That drumset's mixed so well, too like all the drums on here; they aged pretty well like Dr. Dre's drums have on his better tracks.

Silent Hill 2's top tier as well. Yoshi's Island is pretty underrated since I know people don't like that game as much as the ones around it in that mainline series, but it's fantastic.

Guilty gear is a series where the characters ad music are designed by daisuke ishiwatari. He would then go on to compose the blazblue soundtrack.

His work sounds like a mix of black sabbath and J-rock. His stuff uses different kinds of music to represent different kinds of characters. Sol badguy's track has a queen motif.
