It's the Beatles for people who think they're too cool to like the Beatles' most popular albums. It's okay. Middle of the road for them, which is still better than most pop of the time.
albums by the Beatles that are better than Rubber Soul:
>Magical Mystery Tour
>Abbey Road
>Revolver
>The White Album
Name an album with more influence, more carefully put together.
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is more carefully put together and is probably the most influential albums of all time
Sgt Pepper wouldn't have happened before Rubber Soul.
Led Zeppelin IV wouldn't have happened without Led Zeppelin III, but that doesn't make it better
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Pet Sounds
The Dark Side of the Moon
Not relevant.
Fuck no, all those records are built off of Rubber Soul.
Literally not relevant. All of them are just as (if not more) influential. Two of them aren't even that good. It doesn't matter. You can't set up parameters for an argument (influential, carefully put together) and then completely ignore them when someone actually posts things which fit the bill.
Fuck off, retard.
Rubber Soul wouldn't have happened without Help. Is Help now magically the most important album ever?
It's not even the best Beatles album.
*ahem*
It depends on what you're looking for. I think Revolver is more interesting because it's where they peaked creatively. The subsequent albums are them refining their sound, which peaks with Abbey Road. I could see why people would prefer it.
It's unironically up there
can't argue there. i just prefer the other side of the beatles. abbey road is just impeccable
It's by far my least favorite of the so called "good" Beatles albums. Can't stand the aesthetic on the majority of the tracks. So fucking dull.
If you wanna go by objectivity, then it goes to Sgt Peppers whose production style is the basis for how music production has gone since. Before you give some bullshit about "Rubber Soul paved the way", no it did not. Sgt Pepper's approach to production uses techniques completely different to any Beatles album that came before (or any other album period that came before it.)
Lol no
The album has too many shitty tracks.
If "The Word," "What Goes On," "Wait" and "Run for Your Life" were removed and "We Can Work it Out" was added it would be just about perfect.
The Word has great vocal work, and Run For Your Life is one of their best rockers.
this is their best

If by 'greatest' you mean the most overrated garbage, sure
second
good lord almighty this album is shit
Thank you for this /thread
I agree with you're point but Led Zeppelin III is better.
this. 4 is hecka overrated
You're right.
>Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
shit
>Pet Sounds
good
>The Dark Side of the Moon
shit
1/3
I share this sentiment. 4's good, but not as good as it's hyped up to be. Honestly, I prefer Physical Graffiti.
Sgt. Pepper's is better than Pet Sounds. Pet Sounds is alright at best, downright boring at worst.
well it isn't Pet Sounds, so that'd be a no.
en.wikipedia.org
"As of 2017, Acclaimed Music lists Pet Sounds as the statistically most acclaimed album of all time."
"Originally promoted as "the most progressive pop album ever", Pet Sounds attracted recognition for its ambitious recording and unusually sophisticated music, and is widely considered to be one of the most influential albums in music history."
Pet Sounds is a joke. Overrated as hell, is not even a 8/10
t. Mike Love
Magical Mystery Tour is their worst album.
...
lol Sgt Pepper too
Not that they're bad, just at the bottom of great
listen to it more until it clicks
This is pretty fantastic though
There is no art that exists that's objectively good.
>this shitty opinion again
It was most certainly a turning point for the band.
this album is probably one of my top 10 of all time.
i liked in through the out door the best desu. Great tracks. Full of emotion.
The fact that so many books still name the Beatles "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success: the Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worth of being saved.
pls neck urself
Please Please Me is more influential than Rubber Soul based on your logic
It's nice collection of folky pop songs and all, but let's not get carried away.
Certainly the best mainstream album, but Dr. Wakkmann's virtually posthumous magnum opus is the GOAT. Everybody here should listen to it, it's a great plebe filter.
Too many bad songs
>Let it Be
>Not the best album The Beatles ever put out
The problem with Let it Be is the best version is some amalgamation of the original release, the unreleased Get Back, and the later Let it Be Naked. There is no definitive version and that holds it back. If you're ever bored feel free to make yourself a custom fit. There's a 9/10 album in there somewhere.
Another thing holding it back is that a lot of the material written and recorded during the Get Back sessions was never recorded/performed properly, and frankly just tossed aside. The Get Back sessions is some of my favorite Beatle listening, it's a shame the Beatles didn't care much during this time.
