THIS IS GOING TO MAKE YOU FREAK

Something entirely gimmicky from a creator who relies entirely on gimmicks to sell his material and when it tries to strain for pathos it's laughable?
Probably Lift Yr Skinny Fists or something.

I`m thinking of something ambient, constantly shiftng between darker and calmer themes, probably with a discreet beat structure and cityscape field recordings. Any suggestions?

GN is a hack. I hate to be the one to break the news to you.

My man

What a strange film/director to have a hateboner for.

I don't have a hate boner for it, i look down on it in disgust, then carry on with my day and watch an actually worthwhile movie.

Seriously, people think because a director is french they must be artsy and deep, but Noe is just a talentless hack who relies entirely on gimmicks to say in buisness and has no idea how to create pathos in his 'movies'

Thank you for the valuable recommendation of music that fits the mood and tone of the film, I really appreciate your comprehensive contribution!

>I don't have a hate boner for it
>stops on a thread to shit on it
Yeah, I dunno.
>french
Noe is Argentinian.

To be fair, EtV is definitely a better movie than Irreversible. I did not write but he has the right idea.

Movie's not that obscure

Not every film is made with the same intention. Would you criticise Brackhage for not having narratives? You aren't smart enough to make the posts you're trying to make.

>relies entirely on gimmicks

you mean "gimmicks" like production, scenography, visual narratives, montage etc? You literally don`t know what differs film from other media

Not what I meant.

Tim hecker - love streams

Nah, not exactly what I`m looking for and also his weakest one

Government Plates

Browsed a bit around, guess I`m thinking approximately into this direction. But both calm and stressing and with a more megacity-esque vibe

>Brackhage
not the person you're replying to, but what was the intention of enter the void? it was mostly a visual experience, and it does look very pretty and nails the psychedelic atmosphere it's going for at times
but it ruins it by going on way too long and that awful ending (gasper noe stated the film represents oscar going back to the most painful memory of his life, his birth. he IS NOT being reborn to his sister like so many people assume) this leaves out any sort of ambiguity on whether the whole film was just his trip or not.
i don't hate noe, it's just that i think he's too edgy for his own good sometimes. hacks are people like steven soderbergh, who are legitimately untalented

Regardless of Noe's original intentions, you are still free to make your own conclusions.
I think it would have been too predictable and cliché if he was reborn as his own niece, also, the film is called "enter the void", the message is a bit nihilistic, but not edgy imo.

The ending could`ve been better, but I think the duration fits the mood and narrative speed. After all it`s a meditative and sometimes disturbing experience, and for this 160 minutes can be legit

C`mon Sup Forums you faggots whine about the film and how no one pays attention to muh superior taste, but no one actually knows any album/musician who fits it? I`m kinda disappointed

So what are you exactly looking for?

...

>here movie
>please give music like movie
Jesus christ, will Sup Forums kiddies ever realize there's no such thing as a "musical equivalent" to something? At least you should try to be more specific in what you're looking for. Every thread like this comes off as one being made by a 16 year old trying to be cool and building his (fake) personality around "cool" media.

this pic is projecting

Throbbing Gristle and Coil. Both are played during the movie.

If it was more specific I didn`t had to ask for it. + there definitely are "musical equivalents" in the form of albums with certain characteristic overlaps. No medium is an island

I saw Enter the Void when I was 20, and it affected me a lot. At the time, I thought I wanted to try DMT and mescaline. But in the long term, actionably it's just helped make me super anti-drug and clean living.

"Certain characteristic overlaps" seems vague enough to make any album a possible "musical equivalent". My problem with the expression is that it is so vague and subjective that there is no point in discussing it. Especially when each attempted reply is usually followed by the OP saying "nah that's not what I was looking for brah". At least try to define the characteristics

Deepchord - Liumin

this, cant believe noone mentioned it yet

literally samples tokyos

this is as close as i can get

in my subjective opinion

L$D - Asap rocky

Mahlers 9th

It`s not that I didn`t gave any characteristics at all. And I don`t want to be too specific exactly because I`m interested in what music people subjectively link to the movie.

And you literally say it is pointless to discuss about things that aren`t objective? What exactly are you talking about on a daily basis if never about a subjective opinion?

Thanks, gonna try out all these!
