MY BALLS FEEL LIKE A PAIR OF MARACAS
MY BALLS FEEL LIKE A PAIR OF MARACAS

I like when he transitioned Joe's Garage into that song.

Just got me a copy of that new Halloween box set for freee hahaa the bandit strikes again!

So would anyone go to see the hologram tour? I would hypothetically if I could afford it, it'll probably be like 200 dental floss coupons. But I don't get the hate, who cares. At least you get to see the music performed again, straightforward and boringly...

Might pick up a copy of Imaginary Diseases tomorrow, arguably his best era.

Zappa is a hack!

he died before computers were even invented

This

Zappa is a proto hack!

I lost all my respect for him when I found out that he has a youtube channel about conspiracy theories

I've listened through it. Even if it's Zappa, hearing Bobby Brown six times can get repetitive. But, he does other stuff in most of the other songs that keeps variety throughout all the shows.

Imaginary Diseases is great. I think Grand Wazoo / Petit Wazoo is my favorite era, too.

Actually Joes Garage sounds good. Putting it on after lunch.

GIMME DAT

Watermelon in Easter Hay is his greatest "guitar song."

it looks just like Ike Willis's U47!

zappa threads are all i have to look forward to at this point.

> muh Zappa
> me being a good consumerist whore

TITTIES AND BEER
TITTIES AND BEER
TITTIES AND BEER

link for a family member?

Post rare Zappas

i see you've made some additions.

The only album I truly don't like is "Ruben and the Jets," but it's still important to listen to (I think) if you want the full early Zappa experience.

I think he's referring to this

Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?

He died 12 years before youtube was invented

Humbly requesting a meme with Pepe Zappa laughing at Wojak Reed

thats what THEY want you to think

Zappa is memeable, but not too simple to attract 12 year old Sup Forums shitposters.

i spent way too long trying to figure out who caledonia mahogany was until i read the actual lyrics

lol, or Bald Headed Johns......
Too bad grease is bad for leather.

Are there any worthwhile post-death albums other than Lather and Civilization Phaze III?

...

...

John Oates > Zappa

tfw uncle meat on cassette

It's probably been said millions of times before, but I like how his concerts are a contiguous stream of music. No waiting for applause, no announcing each song, no telling stories before each song about how "meaningful" it is.

Yeah I'm not gonna listen to more than one disc at a time so that doesnt happen heh. I recently watched Baby Snakes too so I'm gonna start with the Halloween shows and see how the whole show sounds uninterupted, the crowd was going crazy in the movie

they really get uptight when you try to move the smoke

...

oh kek ya ive seen those

lmao

...

Is there a live version of Greggory Peccary with the narration?

I know some Wazoo-era concerts had fully instrumental versions.

Wow Zappa, so deep and so brave!

Nice collection man

does the sample have Hands with a Hammer on it?

Imaginary Diseases for sure
The Lost Episodes is really cool
so are all the Joe's Corsage/Menage/Camouflage CDs, Corsage has good recordings of the Mothers ca. 1965 or something and XMASage has some of his really early shit

also Feeding the Monkies at Ma Maison and Little Dots

His only worthy albums are Hot Rats and Uncle Meat

/thread

The Grand Wazoo is equal to Hot Rats in my opinion.

But, I think far more albums are "worthy" than just those ones.

except it's basic observation and reasoning

>Is there a live version of Greggory Peccary with the narration?
that's a very good question I can't seem to find one
but I did discover this:
discogs.com/Nasal-Retentive-Orchestra-Music-For-Hungry-People/release/8508221

get a load of mr. open schedule over here

>discogs.com/Nasal-Retentive-Orchestra-Music-For-Hungry-People/release/850822
A four-minute version of Greggery Peccary? Literally how?

I'm going to try to find this, as I'm curious.

Something that you clearly lack.

This is all I could find on youtube, at least.

Pretty good cover of Dupree's Paradise:
youtube.com/watch?v=AC6aaNCmrb4

good one scoob

Hah very tight, that was nice
Oh damn theres nothing on slsk by them atm this is definitely going on the list

apparently he also has a twitch channel where he streams pubg

...

>none of them are unwrapped
rip

I think that might just be the sleeves

>You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Sampler
>Sampler
Ayo, fix that shit man or Ima have to start speakin the language, Jack

So i have a vinyl pressing of Zappa in New York that has the full Titties & Beer and Punky's Whips on it. The label on the disc says "1977" and i can't find any indication on the packaging that it's a reissue of any sort. I got it for $30.

Am I special? Or am I just an average hipster with a turntable?

>tfw when you think of Stairway to Heaven, the Zappa version pops into your head before the original.

youtube.com/watch?v=uKgK91zCq44

the release code should be etched on the ring of the disc between the label and the playing part of the record, it's visible if you look at it under a good light. just look it up on discogs to see which pressing it is, pic related, the cat# section shows the codes of different pressings

Nope, that's on Volume 3.
Also, only vol 1 and 2 are on vinyl (vol 2 being pretty rare)

I've been listening to a lot of Safe As Milk lately- goddamn is it fucking good,

holy fuck, is that terry?

Reminder that You Are What You Is is SEVERELY underrated.

Some of the best production and harmonies ever in an album. Just because the music is more simple and less jazz based than his earlier stuff a lot of new zappa fans don't like it.

youtube.com/watch?v=-Xhrmkrm5fg

sacrifice it to the devil so he'll bring you some beers and boobs

does the sampler only cover vol 1 and 2/

Sort of, it has about half the songs Vol 1 with just a few songs from Vol 2.

> forgot pic

ah i see, shame cause there's great stuff on 3.

for me it goes 2 > 1 > 5 > 3 > 4 > 6

Fucking this.

That album to this day is one of my all time favorites.

saved

the inside

THERE ARE THREE THINGS THAT SMELL LIKE FISH

(wash up your pieeeee)

ONE OF THEM IS FISH

(wash up your pieeee)

THE OTHER TWO ARE GROWING ON YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I love the 200 motels soundtrack.

he really looks different with clothes on

Where in Illinois are you? I’m in Cary.

"When the green light shines down
On the black guys in the band
Everybody in the audience
Thinks they're seeing something
That looks like it's made out of Fish skin"

My only complaint about this era is the small size of the band during the live shows. The songs start to feel a bit samey, in terms of instrumentation.

But you're right, the production value is great, and the songs are just tight. Also, there is still a lot of room for great improvisation, too.

Magic Fingers has become a meme at my workplace. it's a repair shop specialising in industrial automation hardware, mostly unfucking PLCs

whevener someone asks the question "how'd you get that working" the answer is always "Magic Fingers"

I'm not from Illinois sry I just thought the name was funny. I'm Canadadian. I knew a guy named Cary once tho. Hey how's the weather down there?

Interesting spelling of "Cosmik Debris"

wait....what? Shit, didn't even notice the typo.

MY DUDE THE SPINE!!!!!!!!!!

...

meh, don't worry, it's used and already limber.

Roxy by Proxy is underrated as fuck.

i love moon's voice on drafted again. if only she woulda - drafted again is a great ending in general

ur really tyin my jimmies to the whipping post here famn

DON'T FUCK WITH BILLY
AND DON'T FUCK WITH ETHELL

He's Soon to be...

Okay, a real question for you all:

Which is the definitive version of Sleep Dirt? With or without vocals?

fiiiilled wiiith fliiies that should be
BUZZING ALL ARROUUUUUNNND

so how bout that hologram tour?

i don't think i've heard the version with vocals. link?

youtube.com/watch?v=C2_2SQFFYfc

Filthy Habits still doesn't have vocals in this version, but most of the other songs do.

...

Without, but only slightly. Sleep Dirt is the "least ruined" of the albums that Zappa made latter-day changes to. I enjoy the vocals, but I'll always prefer the instrumental versions.
