>those drums >beautiful shots of coruscant >jedi fighters meandering through the star destroyers and federation ships >god tier music >cgi still holding up to this day
Can someone please explain why this isnt rated one of the best star wars movies? we dont need to discuss whether its the best of the prequels as its widely established here.
is it because of all the old fags here who cant let go of their nostalgia for the original trilogy even though the effects are really bad and in general theyre just pretty dull and tame movies.
The intro scene rescuing palpatine and slaying dooku is possibly one of the greatest scenes out of the franchise and the film hadnt even started properly. kino certified
when watching tfa i actually forgot it was a star wars movie, it lacked every characteristic which makes one, there was no pace no substance no character development, no world concepts, no sense of time or travel from planet to planet (most of it was spent in shitty generic star wars landscapes)
it was basically a sci fi fantasy flick using star wars as a mask to promote itself with shameful plugs of nostalgia, its hilarious that people still defend them and call people contrarian for preferring the prequels. i havent watched r1 yet but tfa was god fucking awful, but youre right, there was no scenes like the one in OP, nothing at all like a star wars movie
Jayden Howard
yeah except acting, writing and directing, it was perfect
Gabriel Fisher
nothing wrong with any of that give me an example of bad acting i dont care that some of the script was pretty simplistic, there was plenty of powerful dialogue
Julian Walker
It was good for 3 minutes congrats.
Noah Scott
The whole movie felt closer to the ot than any of the other movies did with the exception of r1. It properly gives off the edge and suspense of anakin.
Isaac Price
TFA score is still very melodic, complex, and thematically consistent. Composers change, he wasn't off his game, you don't know what the fuck you're talking
You don't know what you're talking about either
Nathan Wright
It's good until about 00:45. That's when you end up with far too much new information on the screen. As an audience, we understand that the Jedi Starfighters are likely to be our protagonists by the focus on them. However, we have no understanding of which ships belong to which side of the battle until they are introduced in the middle of combat.
The first notable instance to the view of which side is which is at 1:09, when we witness the Republic craft firing at the CIS craft. Even so, this is presented so quickly that we get little view of the CIS craft and we only notice the Republic craft after we fly through the explosion. The only ships that had played a notable part beforehand in the series are the CIS circular ships from TPM.

do you even believe this garbage youre spouting? youre defending a fucking flick which shows no respect for the star wars franchise. just an agenda driven piece of shite
Connor Johnson
"From my point of view, the Jedi are evil."
>powerful dialogue
Andrew Powell
I ask the same thing when I see these prequel defense force threads pop up day after day.
Oliver Moore
TFA's music was very bland and forgettable and so was Rogue Ones. It's not even an argument.
why do you think they pop up? because the new shit makes people appreciate how 'star wars' the prequels actually were and how un star wars tfa and r1 are. they have no pace or sense of depth to them. completely 2 dimensional and boring. stop defending them
Oliver Smith
still better than TFA by far TFA didnt even feature acting just people rapidly speaking their poorly written dialog and any time they featured acting it was the main girl in her mary sue bullshit that makes no sense in the universe of star wars
Joshua Campbell
such shit taste its comical
John Moore
>the movie is good because ILM made cool looking cartoon as an opening
Dominic James
>tfw Sup Forums is so contarian that people actually started praising the prequels In a few years you faggots are gonna start prasing J Lawrence as a best actress of a generation, calling it now
Zachary Edwards
>That opening shot is really impressive! Caus it's like, um, one long uncut shot or something!
