What kind of trip do you want?
youtube.com/watch?v=LD0JZHMN0yk&list=PL0240B6DAC5E0A593

Happy, uplifting, calm and mellow I suppose. I'll be listening with a few friends.

Whatever you're comfortable and familiar with. I found it really cozy to have one headphone in and just listen to what I felt, since I really don't like the music my friends do. Generally, I found that electronic or stuff with a lot of texture and interesting sounds was the most enjoyable.

Alright, that's kind of what I was thinking. I was thinking of some Boards of Canada or pic related might be nice.

I'm hoping to be able to get an album on vinyl before we trip so me and my friends can just lay back and let it play on the speakers and sort of pass the cover art around to look at. I don't know if this is a good idea but it was just an idea I had and was looking for suggestions of albums I should keep my eyes peeled for next time I go over to my local record shops

Don't listen to classical, but listen to something without lyrics. Avoid fast tempos too. Tortoise, maybe.

dude shrooms lmao

This sounded insanely good, I'm just posting so you know what kind of music you might enjoy, but go with music you like and know. Also some people say, you must avoid songs with lyrics, I don't agree with that at all.

SPIDERS ALL OVER YOU SPIDERS ALL OVER YOU SPIDERS ALL OVER YOU. YOUR FRIENDS WANT TO KILL YOU, YOUR FRIENDS WANT TO KILL YOU, YOUR FRIENDS WANT TO KILL YOU

remember that while you trip

Try this one etherealtalks.bandcamp.com/album/tranquility
I think you won't forget it ;)

Sgt. Pepper's, or Dark Side Of The Moon.

>Boards of Canada

I listen to them a lot when tripping, The Campfire Headphase was incredible. That seems like it would be a really fun time, but also be prepared to really want to go outside. The world is so much more curious on shrooms.

The best album to listen to on shrooms is your own bloodstream and heartbeat.

Oh, great call. Tortoise are my favourite post rock band but I didn't even think of them.

This is really really nice, thanks. Love that soft guitar sound. It's reminding me of something but I'm not quite sure what, probably some sophisti-pop album or something. I dig the style and I'll keep that in mind

Is this yours? If so, it's really fucking good. But I think I'm gonna be looking for something a little more positive to keep me in a good headspace. I'll definitely keep this one for sober listening though.

Ah yes, the classics. I didn't really consider putting these on but I'll definitely keep them in mind

Ok great to know. I might have to do TCH then if you recommend it. Also yeah I definitely think we might go outside for a bit too, i don't really have too tight of a plan but I'm more just willing to go with the flow.

Hmmm, see I've never taken shrooms before so you may very well be right, I don't even know if I will feel like listening to music. For some reason I like the idea of putting on something happy sounding to keep me in a positive headspace though

Thank you, man :)

Vegas by The Crystal Method.

Flying Lotus is great

Seriously this, or any other free jazz record
Listening to psych music on psychedelics feels like a joke

I've already got Innerspeaker on vinyl so that will probably get some play without a doubt.

No problem dude, I'm very impressed! Thanks for putting me onto your stuff I love music like this.

Crystal Method are a group I'm peripherally aware of but have never listened. Will check out, thanks!

Funny enough I actually met Flying Lotus at a festival. He was a cool guy. Definitely might have to put his stuff on, I feel like LA would be awesome

See I love most kinds of jazz but have never been able to really into free jazz. But this might be the thing I need to get it to click so I'll keep it in mind

For the mood you describe these are great selections IMO:

Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons

Bless the Self by Geotic: youtube.com/watch?v=hVatUTTvnfE
Also the first half

The first half of this album: Cosmic Surgery by Neat Beats: youtube.com/watch?v=X6kGg31G0As

Also, not that calm but, IMO the best album to listen to on psychs (and not on psychs for that matter... but it is really astonishing on psychs) is Close to the Edge by Yes.

Why does everybody who is about to do drugs for the first time visit Sup Forums and make this thread?
I mean, if you've browsed here before you'd realize we have this thread every fucking day. And it always plays out basically the same. Is it an avante-garde shill campaign?

Maybe I've done too many drugs, but the answer is OBVIOUSLY anything you'd also enjoy listening to while sober.

With the decreased attention span I guarantee somebody will get bored with music and decide that staring at woodgrain or watching water ripples is more interesting.
Playing instruments>>Listenting to Recorded music

it's just idiots from Sup Forums who think psyches are supposed to be this experience with various rules, like listening to certain music and thinking about certain things and eating certain fruits

Dark side of the moon. Dont listen to the wall on shrooms it sounds evil. Crime of the century is good too.
