Have any women played in MLB?

If so, who are they, which position did they play and which teams were they on?

only in fiction

No. But there was a midget who played in MLB, back in the 1910s. His strike zone was so small he walked every at-bat.

Honestly, Baseball would be the easiest sport for a women to join the men's league. They could easily be a pitcher.

>Honestly, Baseball would be the easiest sport for a women to join the men's league.
Only if you don't know shit about the sport.

>They could easily be a pitcher.
Lol, no they couldn't be. Women can't even throw into the 80s range. 80mph is the female equivalent of 100mph, an adult woman pitching is essentially the equivalent of a 13-year old boy.

> there was a midget
> was

What is Altuve

So a woman could perfectly master a screwball

>Women can't even throw into the 80s range
At one point people were saying that a 100 MPH fastball was impossible. If there was a women out there who could throw a 94 MPH fastball and had good command they would easily be signed by a team.

lmao fuck no

No women have ever reached the majors, but women have played professional baseball before, and a 17-year old girl once struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in an exhibition match.

>If there was a women out there who could throw a 94 MPH fastball

>Women can't even throw into the 80s range.
Try the 70s range. The women's record is 69.

No, because a woman's screwball would be painfully slow. If their fastest fastball can't even top 70, then their screwball would be in the 40s. And at that point, it's so slow that any batter can track it easily.

The fastest pitch EVER thrown by a woman is 69 mph.

>At one point people were saying that a 100 MPH fastball was impossible.
No they weren't. The first 100mph fastball was recorded in the 1930s, literally right after the recording equipment was invented. It's almost certain that some guys were throwing that fast before, the only reason we're not sure is that the equipment to measure it didn't exist.

Never in baseball to my knowledge. The ABA's Kentucky Colonels are the highest level team to ever play a woman, but that was more of a political statement. Anne Meyers signed a contract with the Pacer's but never made the lineup.
Kicker would likely be the easiest position for a woman to compete in, if any.

>Kicker would likely be the easiest position for a woman to compete in, if any.
Can a woman kick 50 yards+ in full gear though? I know a couple have tried and it's gone horribly for them.

>inb4 female soccer players
If there was a woman who knew for a fact she could kick at the NFL level, and didn't immediately try to get into the league, then that woman was retarded. She could earn more in a year as a NFL kicker than in a lifetime as a soccer player.

Yeah, her name is Buster Posey

>Have any women...

no

>No. But there was a midget who played in MLB, back in the 1910s. His strike zone was so small he walked every at-bat.

Haha. Was he ever "tossed" out of a game?

It was the 40s and he played one game

some female soccer players are defiantly making more then nfl kickers if you count endorsments, nobody wants to sponsor a kicker that gets 10 seconds of tv time

>It was the 40s and he played one game

No one tosses a dwarf!

>nobody wants to sponsor a kicker that gets 10 seconds of tv time
Lol you think the first female kicker would get 10 seconds of tv time? She'd have 24/7 coverage for years. ESPN would make her name a category on their scrolling bar thing.

>a 17-year old girl once struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in an exhibition match.

So she struck out an alcoholic and a man with a degenerative neurological disorder in a game that neither man was taking seriously?

Still, though. She got to meet Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. That's pretty darn cool.

>Yeah, her name is Buster Posey

Why Buster?

ya but rather be the face of female soccer then a meme

MLB Gulag

Only because her throwing were unorthodox. Given enough throws they would adapt to her style, then she would be useless.

a random woman striked out babe ruth and gehrig

so much for baseball

Her maiden name was Hymen.

>Her maiden name was Hymen.

Tehe. You said Hymen.
