I can't, Nick Drake is great
I wish he made more albums in this stripped down style

Well, that was easy.

ITAOTS

The Glow pt. 2

nice try and also nice dubs but lol no

>I'd wish he made more albums
user, I have bad news for you

This

t. soyboys

Anthology of American Folk music is miles better

But Nick Drake is still my favorite artist

just another diamond day

nice dubs nigga
and it is a good album I agree
t.OP

well I know and appreciate the two other albums he made before his death, but this one is so bare yet perfect

>implying

The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan
Parsley, Sage Rosemary and Thyme

...

...

...

SJSIYM is better

It's funny, I can't explain why exactly, but while Pink Moon is my favorite of all time, I have to agree that Helplessness Blues is a better folk album. The harmonies and the imagery give it the edge over PM

Aomeone mentioned Connie Converse i a thread yesterday, I’m really enjoying the album do check it out :)

...

...

Chamber Folk with Post-Rock/Shoegaze climaxes and outros

john martyn - solid air
jackson c frank - jackson c frank
nick drake - five leaves left
judee sill - heart food
townes van zandt - towned van zandt
vashti bunyan - just another diamond day
that being said i love pink moon.

...

>nick drake - five leaves left
What did he mean by this?

not him, but i assume he (rightfully) implied that FLL is better than Pink Moon

you really didnt like it?

I do like it, I think all three of his albums are great, but I don't think it's better than Pink Moon at all, tracks like Place to Be, Road, Parasite and From the Morning are the best things he's ever done. Pink Moon is rightfully remembered as his magnum opus, in my opinion.

...

but Crack Up is better

>ywn hear Drake's folk rock magnum opus like pic related

EARLY ONE MORNIN' THE SUN WAS SHININ'

this

Bob Dylan is garbage kys

only answer that comes even close desu

Just listened to it, honestly I'm tired of political bs everywhere in music

Crack up is their worst

Still good though

Just finished listening to it, thank you so much!

imagine being this pleb

The lyrics are too much about politics (specificity at least) when compared to previous albums.
I also find the lyricism less evocative most the time.

The melodies are much weaker than previous albums and harmonies almost non existent.
The only advantages this album has is a wider variety of instrumentation, however it isn't being utilized as well on previous efforts.

Sibylle Baier - Colour Green

I love pink moon but this is probably my favorite

>nearly 50 repies
>still no Tim Buckley

smfh

>it's less catchy

Any Irvine/Paul Brady

Not folk albums

I'll even provide a link

Catch a boat to England baby

>le more diverse instrumentation and unmelodic songwriting equals more patrician face

leave my girl Linda out of this

Just a minire sorry >7777777

Meant to say that lol

sounds shit gay and old

The absolute state of /r/indieheads tourists

Almost none of these are folk you fucking plebes

>not even his album

here's an L for ya op

>implying I haven't been here longer than you

It's not hard to be better than what's in the OP

posts like this is what makes me come back to this shithole. thank you so much user.

Arguably these two, although wether or not Ys is folk is debatable, the guy saying just another diamond day isn’t folk is wrong.

Depending on how broadly we’re willing to define folk there are a few other contenders imo, sung tongs and the hangman’s beautiful daughter are at least in the conversation. Maybe Illinoise too.

All that being said From the morning is like a top five song all time for me. Nick Drake was a genius

>just another diamon day
>not folk
to my knowledge, whenever there is singing and the main instrument is an acoustic guitar, it is known as folk.

if you don't think it is folk, then what it is BITCH?

...

...

Although Dave Van Ronk has strong material throughout his career. Townes Van Zandt also has strong country/folk/Americana records throughout his career too. So perhaps his Live at the Old Quarter House.

>posting the inferior Stormcock

>implying that album's "folk"

>implying the thread is asking for traditional folk albums
What's it like having autism and being unable to tell what the point of a thread is?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folk_jazz

It's not folk jazz either. I see that you don't know what either word means. Maybe you should have read the article you linked first.
>UR A FAGET ;_;
nice argument

>>UR A FAGET ;_;
>nice argument
Yet more proof you can't read and contextualise. Life must be very difficult for you if you're unable to communicate correctly with people. Do you emotional issues as well?

>Yet more proof you can't read and contextualise
All you did is call me an autist because I pointed out that Astral Weeks is not folk, arguing that the OP didn't specify enough, which he did when he said "folk". But hey, don't let me get in the way of your sad, pointless projecting.

Why is From the Morning the best track?

Nick Drake - Pink Moon

*scoff*

Given genre labelling is based on consensus are you disputing the folk-rock, folk-jazz appellation given as 'not folk'?

/thread

>labelling is based on consensus

step aside fageeeeeeets

>using wikipedia as proof to back up claims
