my favorite latey

...

...

I've never understood the hatred The Clash gets from Sup Forums. Generally, big name British bands are well respected but they seem to be reviled on here. Is it just the Sup Forums contingent?

>I've never understood the hatred The Clash gets from Sup Forums.
They're popular and critically acclaimed.

same as with radiohead

minor threat's first demo tape is really good

any "real" punk fan is going to at least appreciate the clash for contributing massively in pioneering the genre.
I personally prefer the ramones from that era, but the clash definately earned their place in history.

...

one of my favorites, helped me get into hardcore punk back in the day

any ska-punk fans?

This, every song is practically a 10/10 and has some of the best drumming and riffs in punk history.

...

everytime someone mentions The Clash this comes to mind.
>Ska is gay, Reggae is gay
>You’re fucking gay and you’re not punk
>You say you hate corporations, but you were on NBC
>London’s calling and they’re calling you gay
>Rancid sucks, Rancid sucks, Rancid sucks, >and The Clash sucked too [x2]
haha god damn you seth!

pic related, folky ska punk

fucking beautiful album, best thing Stza ever put out

I'll check it out, I can get down with some folks vibes

Graves fucking rules and this album is perfection

Fucking agreed. Graves does Danzig era better than Danzig does as well.

odd sounding celtic gypsy folk punk rock or something.

Mine

fucking awful album you have terrible taste
because they arent punk enough

nice choice
hell yeah pink flag
checking this out later

...

...

Agreed. I’ve seen him live like 5 times and every time it’s incredible. Got to hang out and talk with him a bit on multiple occasions. Super cool guy

>fucking awful album you have terrible taste
I'm willing do punk rock 101 with you and whoop your sorry ass :)
>because they arent punk enough
>what is anything before hardcore punk

Great choice friend

Great post. One of my favorite hardcore albums ever.

Lucky man. I saw him do an acoustic show years back. Closed with descending angel, beautiful.

I'm a sucker for Despise You too.

RIP Erik.
Saw them live a few times back around 2007-2010, picked up most of their albums. Probably the only good music to come out of the mostly shitty "folk-punk" genre. Dude had talent.

that being said it is a great album

he did indeed, one hell of a voice, goes deeeep.
rip

>the worst things a person could do is "listen to SWA" and "be SWA"

My biggest problem with the Clash is that I started with Sandanista and now don't want to listen to any more ever.

weird and faaaast

Saw them live on a whim, picked this up next day. CD version of ROIR cassette. God-tier.

oof, nice. would love to see them.

I like weird and fast, post more like this

literally the best album ever

Good shit. Technically old school emo though

its punk.

youtube.com/watch?v=-03q9VE0sOk

Punk sucks. So it means a lot when I say Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables by Dead Kennedys is the best

imagine actually being this autistic

Great choice, the punk sux meme is stale tho

Suit yourself. I was in a band based around emotive hardcore. It's 90's emo along with bands like Saetia, City of Caterpillar, Funeral Diner, The Khayembi Comunique, Spirit of Versailles, Indian Summer, etc

There's a lot of overlap when it comes to punk. I gave up on pretty much every sub genre aside from hardcore punk and ska punk. The rest is just punk or punk influenced.

Aww someone got butthurt. Don't worry Jimmy, high school won't last forever

>90s emo
>not listing Sunny Day Real Estate

Thanks user. Yeah maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it. I wasn't trying to bait ir anything, I'm a metalhead is all, so I'm particular about my punk. Love Dead Kennedys along with a few other bands

sunny day real estate is fucking awful

You're right user. I also forgot I Hate Myself and Texas is the Reason

doesn't matter, they pioneered the genre

it just keeps coming lmao

I prefer the self titled album

No worries man, what styles of metal?

DOUBLE NICKELS ON THE DIIIIIIIIME is what I like at the moment. I'm into Distorted Pony too

heck yeah

hell no

>popularizing a genre that got worse as it got popular
>a good thing
they're well worth forgetting my man

This is fair

you're points are literally pointless.
it's like getting mad at someone for mentioning Metallica when it comes to early heavy metal.

husker du > minutemen

Death, thrash, some black, prog, sludge. I also like crossover stuff like Suicidal Tendencies

if early metallica sucked then people would be doing that

love husker du, saw them a few years back

also this do keep in mind that they do not sound like Arnes Plasthjärna in anyway, but they are all fast and weird in their own way.
pic related, not super fast but a true abomination to everything. fuzzzzzzz

yamatsuka eye is the coolest jap punk boi

I always was more into death/grind/etc, but I know I really like black. Any suggestions?

Yeah I love death. In which genre my dude?

...

gonna dump some of my favorites.
saw these guys live with MXPX last year

was looking for black metal suggestions

my first album ever

Also idk if you mind it being in a different language, but this Mexican death metal band Brujeria is pretty damn good and their stuff is very reminiscent of grind especially the old stuff

classic album and my favorite from them. a second close fave from them is Musical monkey

god tier band
RIP Brandon

...

Cant go wrong with any NOFX album here desu

great band if you're into nihilistic lyrics

sounds like porn music lmao

Chewka is a fantastic addition to the band. Have you listened to their new release(s) with him?

Really good band i got into some years back. they had a Split album with Pears and also did a musicvidio/split song with the Mixtapes who i also really like and wish wern't on hiatus.

Here's for those that wanna discover something new or old or just discover. This list is dated af tho and i have to re-screen cap my list again

I've heard of brujeria (while researching actual brujeria lol). I'll definitely check them out

great album
fuck it, it's fun as fuck
fat mike being shit aside, this is prob the best nofx album

...

Gotcha. Emperor, Darkthrone, Xathrites, and Marduk are good shit

...

...

yes, and Ray Rocket's solo rendition of "first time" and the liner notes of his solo record fucking made me cry like a baby. It's great to see the band letting the show go on

Haha. Good shit, they're pretty cool

...

NA NA NA WOAH

Yeah dudes a cunt but damn I love their music

Interesting cover, I'll check it out

Sorry for the random reply But yeah i agree WIWC Was their best album imo.

Brainless God is a masterpiece, and this album is top tier as well. If they came out in the early 2000s, theyd have been massive
