I grabbed this issue of GuitarTechniques magazine (279) because its an Acoustic Special so its bound to have stuff I can study with my acoustic. Lovely magazine I have to say. Really well laid out and explained tabs, and the articles are entertaining. Half tempted to look into subscribing. £6 an issue is pretty fair, and I'm sure I can find a deal on it. It comes with a backing track CD too. Even has a little page written by Justin about rhythmic timing in blues. However this issue has some difficult stuff in it. Way beyond my beginner abilities. But hell, I'm going to dive in and give it a go later anyway. Its at the very least pushing me to ask myself a lot of questions like "what does Pima mean?". Seriosuly though guys, what does Pima mean? It's got something to do with the order of fingers you pick with right?

honestly i think it lost some of it's twang so i'm deciding either to -swap out the volume pot from a 250 to a 500 -swap out the tone knobs from 250 to 500 - replace the .1mf cap to a .47mf -add some sheet metal to the bottom of each pickup i haven't decided yet.
basically i want to focus more on rhythm playing and more chordal work without having my tone to change every time i move the volume on the guitar. and i also want to cover a bit more styles in the hard rock range hence why i'm using bigger caps

it's the same idea as making your own metal base plate like humbuckers have. just cut it to the shape of the pickup and add some adhesive to the bottom and stick it on. the purpose is to affect the magnetic field enough to add twang

For the slides you should watch his hands or experiment yourself That 5 is a grace note, it's basically a note you play in short duration and either slide or hammer-on to the next note very fast such that the grace note is only slightly discernible. Look up examples on youtube and you'll get a clearer idea of what I'm saying
