This is gonna age like milk.
This is gonna age like milk
It aged like milk the moment they rendered it
Wow, that's great. Honestly her dying was the best thing that could happen to disney. Now they can just animate her for a 5 second scene and don't pay her a dime.
So did Carrie
movie with lots of CGI always age like shit. the technology inevitably gets better and it's noticeable when you're watching an older movie. think spider man or the star wars prequels (that somehow aged worse than the ones shot 40 years ago).
Tarkin is given like 10x the screentime
It bothers me Disney is really pushing this. It has such a soulless money grabbing quality to it
I bet she was cheap as peanuts anyways.
>It has such a soulless money grabbing quality to it
Like the rest of Disney then
I honestly 100% wasn't able in any way to tell this is CGI both in the cinema and watching webms later.
I knew it is from reading about it beforehand but if I hadn't known I'm sure I would have at no point questioned this was a lookalike.
Do I have autism?
>Disney
>soulless money grabbing quality
The real thing aged like meat.
What's an estate?
Really? You honestly might
Could you at least tell with Tarkin? He went full cartoon character
So Disney is a publicly traded corporation. The largest shareholder is Steve Jobs' widow.
These movies are nothing but commercials that we go to see.
Yes, Tarkin looked like a lizardman poorly emulating human movement, every movement of his mouth seemed utterly fake, and even his uniform looked like a poor rendering from the Clone Wars, I have seen better animation of realistic humans in videogames from last year.
Leia, ironically, looked like a zombie.
anyone edit this pic with an old PlayStation star wars Leia?? (or some earlier generation star war game)
seems like it could be a humorous meme
I thought some of Cushing's features seemed over-exaggerated and since Tarkin had much more screen time there were more moments which were off.
As a whole I still found him entirely passable but not to the level that I wouldn't have noticed it's CGI.
Also I had to watch it in 3D which didn't help getting a sharp picture.
why not just get an actor and make him up to look like Tarkin??
woah, deep shit man
fuck the (white) man
This.
especially when they did that for Episode 3
>some of Cushing's features seemed over-exaggerated
+ cartoony, - uncanny valley
it would look fucked if they tried to make it look %100% realistic
>it's a Sup Forums shits on CGI because it isn't literally indistinguishable from reality episode
We had this conversation before and you people have no appreciation for how difficult it is to render photo-realistic imagery.
In this case I seriously couldn't even tell that it wasn't real. I thought they just got a really accurate double.
If this is bad CGI then what is good CGI to you?
You find Merchant Mouse another human willing to swallow their own cheeks and I'm sure they'd make it happen.
>humanity pushing back from a.i
this hideous thing is literally fucking cursed.
they should edit it out in respect for carrie.
But I praised it and you quoted my posts.
Tarkin was inexcusable.
Uncanny valley is bs. It's only a matter of time before we can't make out the difference. The idea comes from an old fart that wanted to make real humans special and wanted to believe CGI couldn't replace real humans.
>its good because it was hard to make
It looks awful. They should stop trying or get better at it before putting it onscreen
of course it will. I mean it already looks bad. Just imagine 10 more years to it. It will look like the rots CGI. worse than any video game real time rendering.
I just can't get my head around it when some movies go full retard with CGI. some 20 year old computer generated effects still look decent. just use it when you have to, change stuff if you can you lazy peace of shit director.
>That hairline
It has a shadow guys
I still think the best examples of this technology were in Ant-Man and Civil War.
Seeing that young Robert Downey Jr. blew me away.
The face looks to long for some reason, as if some intern played with the y-axis slider of the model and forgot to put it back into its original position.
How does it look awful? I have yet to hear a rebuttal other than it doesn't look completely and utterly photo-realistic
Human beings are incredibly good at recognizing other human beings, I'm sorry if this fabricated imagery we created out of circuits and electricity kind of looks like it's made out of clay
No ones saying it's not a difficult thing to do but it still looks like shit. Maybe you need glasses or something.
>it would look fucked if they tried to make it look %100% realistic
What the fuck did he mean by this?
it would look like Mars Needs Moms, yeah I watched it
they looked worse, pham
>got sudden influx of money again
>had wild party
>died of heart attack on plane
disney killed her
It it cant be realistic then why not hire a lookalike? At least that would look real
>Mars Needs Moms
You're way off user, stop posting. You're fucking retarded. ROTS Yoda looked more realistic.
Looks like a wax figure
If
Disney are cheap fucks. Remember when pushed effects technology forward? Now it's just production line shit like marvel. Marvel even did a much better job with this type of effect.
you fucking pleb
It was fucking brilliant without the talking, it could totally have convinced me if they were silent to be honest, the technology is either 3 years away from ready, in which case, they can just remaster it later, or it needs a bit more time in the current form.
You're all fucking contrarian if you claim this isn't like the future though.
Some of the pilots are this exact method of CGI and I didn't notice and neither did you
Fuck off with your worthless opinions you blind shit.
t. disney shill
The amount of money it takes to make a photo-realistic render like that is significantly more than whatever they would pay a double for 3 seconds of screen time.
They just wanted the resemblance.
>If this is bad CGI then what is good CGI to you?
Anything I don't notice. There's a shit ton of CGI in movies, but when it's done well you don't notice it at all. Leia was blatantly in your face saying "check out our cgi guise xDD"
The pilots were old unused footage from the original movie just copypasted into new looking cockpits and scenery.
>You're all fucking contrarian if you claim this isn't like the future though.
This is the stupidest post I've seen on Sup Forums today.
Obviously you're going to notice it when one of the actors had died 22 years ago and when the other looks nothing like she did in the 70's.
>The amount of money it takes to make a photo-realistic render like that is significantly more
They didn't spend enough.
Everything in this post is wrong, how embarrassing.
This is how its done. Not perfect but it doesnt look like a wax figure
Imagine the following: The computer just takes a series of old pictures and then just moves the picture like a face.
They did. I don't remeber the name of the actor they got, but he looks and sounds very similar to Cushing. I don't know why they decided to CGI over him.
You think?
He didn't really look like him and recasting the classic characters is retarded.
You could argue that Vader, Leia, and Tarkin had no reason to be in the movie.
Both disney star wars movies have been garbage. If anything Tarkin should have only been there as a hologram.
