Throw it in the trash and buy a midi guitar. What you're looking for is good tracking, which is completely unrealistic on a pedal, and pretty difficult to do with anything less than a piezo.

Need your help boys. Sold nearly all my pedals to become a bedroom warrior and replaced them with a boss gt 100. It does modulation and presets very well but now I'm in a prog band and have pedal envy from the other guitarist so I want to start rebuilding my standalone pedalboard. So far I have >EHX Tube Zipper >DS1 I've always relied on amp gain and crunch channels but would like to get into the overdrive stack game. I've looked at dozens of drives/boosts and am just overwhelmed at this point. Any suggestions?

Hello! A little bit of "crunch" (a term learned via various guitar forums) could help tremendously when working on technique.
Not much. Just a little. There is a sweet spot. Where you can still play and sound clean, but any mistakes will be emphasized through said "crunch." Distortion pumped all the way to "11" (a term used mistakingly; most amps do not go past 10) will muffle any mistakes, thus turning ones playing into a mistake-fueled mess. Much like the lives of those who post on the 4-chan image hosting website and its kin (see - 2chan, 7chan, et cetera)
