I don't really know any of their songs, I just bought the book cause i wanna shred. Whats a good one? (this book has their most popular stuff, I assume)
Adrian Clark
I'm a big faggot and either listen to electronic music, chris cornell, alice in chains or big band, pls help. >I'm serious
Adrian Bell
Add more wtf
Jack Stewart
but thats the only part I learned
Caleb Moore
Holdsworth is also a great guy to listen to. are you the user who was transcribing one of his solos a while ago?
Jose Morales
What made me expand my horizons was when I started going back in time.
Say you like metal, well, go back a few decades to when it began, and then go back further to what led into metal and discover those bands, and then go back further than that even and next thing you know you've got mutimbes greatest marimba hits crankin loud on your bt speaker and your wilin like a true african
Alexander Davis
>you've got mutimbes greatest marimba hits crankin loud on your bt speaker and your wilin like a true african >Mfw Yeah alright, I'll give it a go
some random arpeggios string skipping thing i made up. first time is slow 2nd time is fast as fuck. as i mentioned in the previous thread im going on 1.5 hrs of sleep and using my beater guit, so the fast run was pretty sloppy
the classics are stuff like ghost of perdition, demon of the fall, the moor, blackwater park. not sure what level you're at, some of their stuff is considered advanced im sure
Brayden Evans
Imma play some metal soon if youre still down. Just gotta chug some beers and do some dabs.
Owen Walker
yes, a few months ago. did you recommend ben eunson? funny, a few days after that a friend of mine told me about how he'd jammed with him in NY
Christopher Butler
>not sure what level you're at, some of their stuff is considered advanced im sure
I feel like im mediocre because I've never really tried anything advanced
Elijah Hill
WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR EXCUSE FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPOSE AND PERFORM GUITAR MUSIC LIKE THIS? youtu.be/ZdVg8g2AP-U
Zachary Peterson
Funny enough I never dabbled in Black metal besides ironically; the black satans, cradle of filth, so hearing this had my surprise. I'll have to give some more bathory a listen
Angel Rogers
>black metal >cradle of filth Choose one.
Cameron Lee
Listen to something else
Adrian Rogers
What is Steve's excuse for always looking so fucking pretentious? >wind machine so his hair looks cool I fucking lol'd.
Take that as a sign that I clearly do not know enough about the genre
Bentley Morris
Lol i blame frank zappa for those wierd quirks. Before zappa vai was a good boy who dindu nuffin. Testament to zappas business sense and sense of performance. You gotta admit that faggot vai plays it off. I lol all the time watching him too. But imo hes top 3 guitarists alive.
wish the audio quality wasn't such shit. ill stick around but think ill stop playing and do some work. playing tech death on this shit guitar is a challenge.
Ryder Roberts
I BUILD GUITAR PEDALS FOR A LIVING
AMA
Cameron Thomas
How did you practice to play that fast?
Matthew Flores
he may just have it because he doesn't like his hair in his face and doesnt like wearing a headband
Kayden Long
>77816239 Take the fucking plastic off your guitar. It's not getting you a (You) this time. >he says, on an anime website
whats the purpose of the tape on the bottom part of the neck pup again? is it to prevent string snags?
Nathaniel Parker
Any grown man that watches anime is a fag or a pedophile, no exceptions, sorry bro.
Jackson Diaz
no im an analog faggot. though ive thought about fucking with arduino sometime.
Ian Nelson
R8 my pedalboard /gg/
Adam Moore
Was very hard to hear. Were you singing too or just playing along to a real track.
Charles Young
the majority of Sup Forums posters are young girls and gay guys, and since so many people here like offset fenders you know its full of fags
Charles Jenkins
i dont really practice nowadays but back in the day ie 3 years ago id learn stuff like becker, friedman, malmsteen etc or other solos that challenged me and id just play along with the cd. it's like playing along with a metronome in that it instills a sense of timing in your shredding which is important. a good song to practice sweeping to is serrana by becker, for string skipping i guess there was paul gilbert and petrucci that i learned from. idk man i just liked playing a lot and the speed came naturally.
William Watson
Why do you own more than 1 guitar? Instead of having two $500 guitars for example, you could have one $1000 one which can oftentimes be better than the sum of its parts.
I'm a gigging musician and I never understood this. I always picked one guitar that encompassed my tone preference and feature preference and that was it. I never felt the need for more than one.
Lucas Reyes
real track lol. wish i could sing like that.
Logan Price
>stop liking what I don't like
Kevin Campbell
What kind of music does this person even make?
Landon Gutierrez
just in case one gets broken or stolen I have a backup
Jace Fisher
I have some that work better for different gigs/bands/genres. i started out with cheaper guitars then upgraded and now i cant bring myself to sell the others.
Logan Torres
Different tunings. Different sounds from different configurations.
Austin Hughes
>not having several $1000 guitars scoff
Nathaniel Reyes
Just because I don't understand doesn't mean I'll tell others what to do. I just want to understand why.
Isaiah Torres
>I'm a gigging musician With one guitar? I highly doubt this. The bare minimum for gigging is two.
Protip: open mic night in the local coffee shop isn't gigging
Kevin Brooks
John Mayer has over 200 lol
y'all think I should paint this thing, maybe add some red somewhere? always did want a white guitar but now I find it... plain? or lacking for some reason
Jeff Baxter had 400+. Gave them all away but 40-50. Said he hated to see them sitting there unused.
Nathan Lee
I have 2 electrics and 1 nylon string. Each electric has different feels, sounds, etc. Something harder I'd use my Strat, but something more mellow I'd use my Session Custom. It has amazing clean tone.
I stopped playing electric guitar between 2010 and 2017 and stuck mostly to classicals I rented over the years. I had to own my own so I got one recently.
What this user said. I have like $4000 of gear in just this photo.
>renting a guitar I couldn't stomach doing that. it's exactly like hiring a hooker
Blake Sullivan
>this guy
Charles Richardson
why would you want more than 1 guitar?
>people who play guitar and bass >people who play 6 string and 12 string >people that like different tones created by different guitar configs >people that don't have time to switch to different tunings during a set list >people that wrote a part in the past with a different guitar than what they are writing with now but still want to recreate that specific tone when playing live >people that collect guitars
Hunter Watson
you didn't deny it
Michael Wright
Also people with jobs
Gavin Rivera
I just couldn't rationalize spending $600-700 on a decent nylon string when I'd play it sparingly maybe 10-15hr a month at most. I rented a cheap one for $20/mo some months and I liked it that way.
Nathaniel Brown
>it's exactly like hiring a hooker
what's wrong with that? Do you think you have to love every woman you fuck?
Jackson Johnson
WHere the hell can you rent a guitar?
Juan Long
do you know how to clone timmy.
Lincoln Roberts
my fetish is missionary sex between two consenting married adults for the sole purpose of procreation
Nathaniel James
>$4000 in guitars >$150 amp why
Eli Lee
last one of the night holy shit. too many arpeggios but you gotta love memetheater:
- It's nice to have a cheap guitar for situations you wouldn't be comfortable bringing an expensive guitar into; - A gigging guitarist should always have two guitars onstage with him in case one breaks a string.
Justin Perez
Haha turning up the heat i see. If you can really play that thats pretty dope user. I dont really like playing other peoples music but there is a few songs i need to finish learning. Imma post something after this
Luke Richardson
Yeah he's been getting into some crazy shit the last couple of years. He was hospitalized after wearing a corset.
Carson Reed
huh... guess not but going back to guitars, I wouldn't feel comfortable with something that ain't mine. should it break or whatever, I'd at least want it to be my guitar so that only I can feel guilty about it
Lincoln Jackson
bro that's me in the recording playing along with the tune on my phone lol
i think playing other peoples music is a good way to improve your technique, much funner and more effective than just sitting with a metronome practicing arpeggios all day.
Good shit dude. When i get my pc i may surprise some of you with songs im covering
Bentley Nelson
Jelly of that cleanliness m8 Makes me wish I learned to sweep the real way instead of going for half-assed legato/tap shits
Tyler Ramirez
install S-gear 2 as soon as you get that shit.
Julian Perry
Requesting Wannabe and Mmm-Bop.
Lucas Brooks
Im sure that user will agre with me when i say the secret to sweeps is keeping every note in equal length and practicing slow and perfectly with a metronome and then pickup the pace from there.
Lucas Martin
Yall gonna have to redpill me on all that shit once i get my shit together. I literally know the most minimal about recording with a computer.
Standard sweeping technique is boring af, it sounds so tacky in modern lead guitar. I appreciate more outside-the-box approaches to arpeggios, like hybrid picking or tapping. Keep developing your technique and you'll find your own style come through in ways that will surprise other musicians.
Carter Morales
Haha fucking blast from the past but incidentally i actually heard wannabe today just didnt know that was its name. I actually may want to learn those and play em. Its more up my alley than you may think.
Gabriel Cook
Do it faggot! DOOO EEEEEET!
Jason Campbell
Those songs will be perfect to show.off my strat. But once i build my pc. Heres an easy song i know how to play. I love playing it on my strat 4th position through my jcm900 clean. Sounds like sex albeit not the EXACT SAME tone. youtu.be/BDStOaRLsbg
I try to sing it like a faggot too.
Nolan Brown
>hybrid picking fuck ya. thats partially what i was doing here makes playing fast incredibly easy. also multi fingered tapping a la christian muensner yields some pretty cool sounds. economy picking as well, althought i havent mastered it youtube.com/watch?v=fYlU6gylebs
Thomas Barnes
I have 6 guitars, two of them cost $3k+.
These are the guitars I wanted, there's no more expensive guitar I wanted more.
Benjamin Wood
Hey fucker
Ayden Parker
Post them roman. I wanna see what you come up with.
Liam Walker
I'm considering selling my boss CE-5. It's a nice pedal, but I never use it. Anyone like their chorus pedals?
