Sup Forums what the fuck - you told me this was good
I don’t think anyone told you it was good, they just told you to listen to it
Frownland is a masterpiece, rest is shit.
Safe as Milk is much better. Listen to that one instead.

Singing an obscure, early version of "Torture Never Stops" with Zappa.
Curious how you came to this conclusion
>not being able to realize this album was made by beefheart forcing his band to practice out of fucking sync for hours on end and not appreciating the creativity and skill required to create something like this
OUTOUTOUT
Someone doing a handstand and taking a shit while keeping their head and back clean takes a lot of practice, dedication and skill as well, doesn't mean it's aesthetically pleasing or something I'd want to see. It's concept for the sake of concept and it's disgustingly self-indulgent.
i would pay good money to see that
My theory is that it's based on the common practice of blues musicians occasionally adding beats to a measure in order to accommodate the song itself, and that TMR just does that as much as humanly possible.
It still sounds good though, and the lyrics are interesting

name one (1) other rock and roll album that is both fast AND bulbous
I'm thinking it's because that music analyst guy broke down that particular song. The poster can't appreciate the rest of the album because there's nobody holding his hand and spoon-feeding him about what to think of it.
It’s a cross-fade :(
listen to more free jazz and noise rock, then this album will start to make sense.
Yeah thats what I figured but I wanted to see what rationalization he could come up with
Exactly what I thought about In The Court of King Crimson.
Good opening song, and everything is played well, but the album is so formless and emotionless. Might as well have recorded a bunch of session musicians separately and then edited them together at random.
You're right, but give this a listen anyway. They hide it really well with doing the bass and drums still on the old melody for a while and it sounds amazing.
