How? They're still one of the biggest bands in the world who's albums always sell tons and the fact that a former member died only strengthened their legacy rather than end it.
Nirvana outsold
None of them except Lars.
>Implying that is something Nirvana even would have cared about.
Everyone is an outcast even your dumb stereotypical chad and stacy. At least they think they are, every girl that hasn't been texted in the last 10 minutes believes everyone hates them. Outcasts now just do all they can to wallow in their own shit. It becomes a badge of honor to be worthless as they can. Teen Spirit, Creep etc will always be popular because it is a normal human anxiety. Not only are self-confessed outcasts and robots stupidly smug about how special they are and how much they suffer they are also deluded as to how unspecial, edgy and cliché they are.
in context of overthrowing shitty masculinity bands i think it was important, what followed behind them were even more depressing bands
kurt cobain was visuals
talentless impotent hack
Meh, one should understand the hatred of so called alternative bands from self proclaimed metal bands, considering the former was literally trying to destroy the latter. Only "grunge" band who was ever honest was Alice In Chains, and they came from a metal background.
Alice In Chains made honest music, they were great
Agree, and they never lied about their origins or influences. Always admitted they were influenced by metal, always admitted their image was put together by record companies as part of the "grunge" push
