Was it overrated?
Miami Vice
EDDIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No not at all, great fucking series.
First two seasons were pure kino
I'm in the middle of watching this. Some episodes seem a little lackluster and dumb, with plot holes or just lazy writing, , but generally it's outstanding. It's prestige television before the term was coined.
It's odd to rewatch these old shows these days and you get to the last episode of the season. Aaaaaan nothing happens. No huge explosions, deaths or other cliffhangers. Different times indeed.
This. "Out Where the Buses Don't Run" is the best episode of television.
>Be Michael Mann.
>Realize you're making something very special
>Can never ever top it again
>Why live?
worth it?

Breaking Bad came up w that stuff see
Yes. Don J & the negrocant act for shit.
Great music video shots and nighy driving and boats and all that miami shit.
Guest stars make or break episodes because of the shitty writing and horrible mains. Phil Collins episodes are 11/10.
The pilot is so fucking lit.
But I quickly lost interest after that; I'm a serial guy not a series guy.
Yeah. End of it is just legendary.
>fucking lit
you need to go back stacy
Shut the fuck up
Freaking Supernatural had a huge cliffhanger in the first season
I don't usually really care about Dire Straits but that song and that fucking ending, man. Expecting the usual MV cool shootout and then there's is just "a tired old man."
"He was my partner, you understand? You understand?"
>breaking bad invented cliffhangers
In all seriousness I suppose Dallas started it all with the shooting of J.R.
And that amazing Ferrari sound. That was a real car for a real man.
For first three seasons, yes.
It's interesting to watch for several reasons. For example how it begat so many clichés which parodies having been making fun of for the last 30 years; flashback of colleagues laughing moments before dying etc. It's also interesting how so many guest stars went on to become some of the biggest names in Hollywood for the next 20 years or so.
It probably influenced a generation of television, and it's not until 2010s that shows began to move away from it.
That was a corvette.
...
Edward James Olmos' interview about his first day on the set. Interesting stuff.
youtube.com
Damn, glad I never bought it.
I was wondering how shit these would be since there was no promotion for them and the release seemed pretty barebones.
I bought the Blu Ray and DVD set
DVD was the right choice for
do they even check these things before they get released?
He and Don hated each other lmao
also, do they just hire engineers to upscale the dvd or do they get the original material handed to them?
And it all started with a closed door. Fucking petty man.
Each episode is a stand alone work of art.
