Prove me wrong

Prove me wrong

Radiohead falls too short to be compared to Kubrick desu

Sounds accurate to me, Zero innovations but great craftmanship

All talentless hacks

>great craftmanship
>Radiohead

While the Beatles may sound like Spielberg to you now, in hindsight, you forget that they were the most successful commercial band of all time that decided to stick to their guns and experiment with the avant-garde at the height of their popularity.

It's the equivalent of Spielberg suddenly making art house movies after Indiana Jones and having them still be impossibly lucrative and successful. They had gigantic, brass fucking balls.

Anyway, that skews the entire image for me.

Beatles Avant Garde? The only thing remotely avant garde by them is Revolution 9, and it's an idea stoled from stockhausen.

Most of beatles songs (and im talking about 99% of them) , even of their late period are family friendly songs, good, even really good , but in no way daring or challenging.

who's Lynch matched with

You're insane if you believe Sgt Pepper wasn't experimental for its time. Among pop music, it was an unthinkable album. Even Revolver was highly experimental. You just equate experimentation with being impossibly extreme because you measure it by today's standards. Either that, or you're factoring in the early experimental work of people like Burroughs or Cage, which weren't even arguably under the genre of 'music' to begin with. Paul had very strong ties to the avant-garde art scene of the 60s through the Indica bookstore he co-founded and was making tape loops and other experimental recordings long before they became popularized in modern music.

Basically, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Do you really think Sgt Pepper was not a challenging album for the Beatles audience of screaming teenage girls upon its release? I understand that being young, you feel the need to rail against the conventions to differentiate yourself from other people but the end result is inauthentic contrarian posts like this which have no bearing on the reality the rest of the world experiences.

Well they were definitely more experimental with their music than Spielberg is with film. Spielberg is more like Queen or something.
