chopped and screwed takes samples from hip-hop, an already sample based artform, slows it down and passes it off as original content
vaporwave does almost literally the exact same thing, but instead of taking samples from hip-hop, it takes samples from a myriad of different genres that use original instrumentation.
the ideas are more refined in vaporwave. it's still boring and uninteresting, but it's more refined nonetheless.
