Why do americans put butter in their coffee?

why do americans put butter in their coffee?

Why do Finns put cheese in their coffee?

a chink at trader joes was buying the "irish" butter to put in his coffee, that is the only time I have heard of it.

Personally I prefer about 5:1 ratio of coffee and 1% milk.

That's not how percentages work

dont americans put butter in everything? we had the food network here, with mostly american cooking/food shows, and they literally put butter into everything and shitloads of it too.

butter improves everything

no dingus, he's talking about 1% fat milk. 80% Coffee, 20% milk, and that 20% milk is 1% fat.

Will this be on the exam

i'm sure it does, but doesn't this specific habit contribute greatly to your obesity problem? that and corn syrup is what i learned.

jesus christ why do americans love fat so much? are they afraid they won't survive the winter?

It's a hipster fad thing. Like coldbrew, slowdrip, shit like that. It'll be away. It is very uncommon.
It's pretty essential for cooking, I mean I made lunch today and used nearly 3/4 stick. Butter in the garlic, onion tyhme mashed potatoes, butter and olive oil to sautée wild salmon and butter with seasoned garden fresh zucchini (my poppop grew it!) and organic carrots. Butter in everything. But I don't think it's common at all in coffee. American cuisine is pretty heavy on fat, primarily because it relies on lots of meat. Meat is delicious marinated or cooked in butter. Personally, it gives a rich flavor during cooking and garlic butter makes virtually any steak or lamb dish better. What do you use there?

>dips fries in mayo

Lmfao

>tfw my IRL name is Gaylord Hamburger

Fat is flavor.

Say it with me, Europoor.

Fat. Is. Flavor.

we just braai our meat. marinade it in some spices/sauces. we don't use a lot of butter in dishes really. don't get me wrong, your food looks good. but its seen as quite unhealthy here, especially if it's a regular diet.

except that we usually eat fries only once a week

yes

Fat dissolves the flavor substances like essential oils in food, making them better detectable by the nose as they are trapped in solution. More fat doesn't increase flavour.

Yeah alongside oil (I fry pretty heavily, I was just in rehab where we had to cook for ourselves and I fried probably 4-5 times a week, French fries and onion rights and chicken etc) our diet is complete shit. High fructose corn syrup is in.... virtually everything. The chemicals in my body are astounding. I also have a gluttony problem where I eat when bored. I'm 200 pounds with not enough muscle. what kind of spices m8? Love a good marinade, my favorite is brown sugar/soy sauce combo.... salt and sugar lmfao
Same really, I eat fries less and less. I was on study abroad in Morocco and they eat fries with mayo and I got hooked, it's so shitty for you. I love duck fat fries, a restaurant nearby me features them with a truffle oil, a hard cheese (I forget which one) and an aioli. Very delicious, always order them. Pic is with a beer braised pulled pork sandwich... this is a haute lunch in America. Would go around 20 with tip included.

sounds like you got good food in the rehab there. i had some friends that went in but they always complained about the crap food they got. our braai mixes are very simple salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, cloves mixed. if you're lazy you just get a marinade sauce like bbq. you can also use chutney although we use chutney and apricot jame with some butter to marinade snoek before we throw it on the braai (wrapped in tinfoil of course). very basic stuff. we normally have that with potato salads and mielies (corn on the cob) which have also been put on the braai. what you go to rehab for if i may ask? maybe see a therapist/specialist about your gluttony problem then? its never too late.

No donger, he's talking about ratios so it's 5/6 coffee, 1/6 milk. The ratio you described is 4:1

Fuck me I wish I lived in America

1% milk is a kind ofilk dumfuck

oil(butter)... is the nutrition for brain.

It's healthy

unsalted butter is just solidified cream, what's the big deal?

>what's the big deal?
Your waist size.

>putting liquid milkfat in coffee is normal, putting the same amount of solid milkfat in coffee is disgusting

please log off sir, you're ignorant of dairy and you've made a fool of yourself.

>autism

Don't they put it in their shoes?

>butter sticks
Culture shock!
