I *really* like the vocal delivery, the guitar tone is nice and murky too. I'd turn the overall mix down though. I think it would sound really nice with some extra vocal effects but that's up to you. I just like dreamier shoegaze-y styles
Thanks a lot. I'll be completely honest, I don't have much production knowledge. I just recorded the vocals and guitar on my phone then put the tracks into audacity, added some reverb on my voice, and then posted it.
Worked on this album my junior and senior year of high school. Wrote and produced it all myself, would love some feedback folks!

immediately intense as fuck but then nice. reminds me of laurel halo. mad nighttime vibes,
snakey vibes too!
not really my vibe but very well done and nice synth presets. could imagine getting pinged off to this 1 and dancin the night away

Hi folks!
New to Sup Forums, but I'll try to follow along
Liking a lot of those more classical tracks
What sample libraries are you using?
followed out of curiosity
Not sure where you're going with all of this
Tried to compile a couple tracks in a playlist:
soundcloud.com
Not sure what to call this other than
>Instrumental
>Soundtrack
What else can I call this?
"Digital Orchestral" is a term I've seen used (by only one person, but it fits). Asylphia is good. I'll probably listen to some more.
>"Digital Orchestral"
Supposing I'm trying to come closer to a realistic sound, would Digital Orchestra still be valid?
Is it the sound quality that makes it quality as Digital?
It's just the fact that it's made digitally rather than being a recording of an instrumental performance. I wasn't implying anything about the quality of the instruments.
I don't think digital orchestral is an actual genre though - it's just a label I saw someone use before.
Oh I see I see!
That makes sense
Fair enough. Still good to consider it though
Honestly how does one start making music? Lately I've been feeling the need to create something but I just don't know where to even begin. It's like an itch I can't scratch. How can tap into my emotions and make a song but at the same time not sound forced???
>soundcloud.com
Sick drum beat. I would recommend better placements for your game boy sounds in the song. I don't know where, but they aren't harmonically consistent with the piece. I would work on eqing so you have a cleaner mix.
soundcloud.com
Feedback returned, would love recommendations on how I could clean up the mix more. I play with S1 stereo imager right now, eqing, compression. Any recommended tutorials?
I've started by improvising 1 or 2 piano pieces per day and dumping the better ones on a soundcloud.
I eventually tried to fiddle around on a notation program and started making more orchestral tracks.
I then got recommended to learn a DAW so I picked up Reaper and a bunch of free soundfonts and VSTs.
I'm sure there are many different ways to get into music writing/production.
Can you play an instrument? Do you feel the creativity to make music?
I used to play the drums but it never really took me anywhere. I've been thinking about making some type of rap/hip hop shit but I don't really have any shit to talk about. The creativity isn't really there but the need to make something that is mine is huge.
Thanks for the advice. How would you suggest I eq it?
Can you write lyrics?
Or you could always try making covers for a start
I think I'll try doing covers to practice.
All my lyrics always end up sounding forced or meaningless. How do you write lyrics?
vocaroo.com
not a soundcloud but this seemed like the place to share
the midsong genre transition is very cool

>how do you write lyrics?
I can't help you with that since the only I've ever written were meme-lyrics in weebanese
I'm sorry.
funky shit
Maybe i'll just make some retarded meme shit for starts.
Thanks for the advice lads
My pleasure
Meme shit can still be pretty good
>experimental rock inspired by pop, noise, prog emo
Looking for feedback on song writing/production. These are more like demos I guess. Some are old/changed since then.
>all sounds sound short to me
What does that mean
That aside, I really enjoyed the smooth and relax track
Currently about to finish People.
I can really picture myself buying an album like that
Recc
short as in almost all notes are too short and this results in me not feeling draw in
also theres not enough repetition
the strings section on epsilon is very good

This one ^ was yours right?
I like your arrangements. It reminds me of runescape. I think it would sound killer with a live orchestra
poppy bumpy trap beats mostly, a couple reposts of songs that i produced.
trying to build up DAT SC CLOUT so u know i'm liking & following back whoever got me
>soundcloud.com
I found this rather enjoyable
I really liked this. The atmosphere is nailed and sustained throughout. The only down side for me was that while I thought the length was perfect for what is was, I felt like it needed some sort of climax.
>soundcloud.com
Everything about this is great. Except I guess the mixing of the vocals, and possibly adding 1 other instrument into the mix, but this is coming from someone that doesn't listen to this kind of music.
>shandicatune
I know this kind of goes against the lofi angle, but I think your music would benefit greatly from practicing the production end of things. Or you may be still new to that, and for that I have the same advice: try to make things sound a bit fuller, like adding some reverb or maybe double tracking your guitars. This gives the impression that what the listener hears isn't just happening at certain spacial points in the mix, but instead all around the mix.
Nobody responded to this? I thought your covers were incredible, especially Dock of the Bay.
They were well-practiced, confident, and simple in a good way (guitar/vocals). That's really all that your original music is missing in my opinion. I'm not sure of the reason, but the vocals in your originals don't carry the same feeling or delivery, which honestly could carry the weight of the song because I think you have a very pleasant voice.
Cheers for the feedback. I am no mixing and mastering master that's for sure, but I am learning all these little tips and tricks I get from these feeds help. My next songs I'll try add some of these tips. Cheers again.

I would suggest taking all of the elements that aren't your Bass, and Kick and high pass them as much as you can without ruining the integrity of the sample/instrument. This removes mud in the track. Another suggestion is to use a stereo imager like S1 Stereo Imager, It'll help you put things in their own audio space so that everything has it's own nice spot to sit inside the mix.
Back with the feedback
Love the music box at the start, super comfy
This is really nice, I like how dense it is without being too hectic or in your face
Will always rec, check this dude out if you haven't already, he's got some good shit going on
Some good ideas here, the mix does need a lot more bass, it sounds too tinny for my liking
I really enjoy 'The Corridor', it gives off some nice Twin Peaks soundtrack vibes. The drum are on point as well.
Great track, i love how minimal everything is

HARSH mixing. Turn down that high-end young man. Otherwise nice combo of playing instruments and computer game sounds. Get some real singer on this. Crystal Castles.
Basic trap shit. Lyrics are trash, vocal delivery lacking. Mixing is good, but songs too short! Maybe use a better mic next time when recording.
Be a little darling and leave a comment or a like on my Soundcloud and I'll verily do the same, famatron 5000.
