great album

1st for metalpunk recs
to the user in the other thread, I've had overcharge on my "to listen" list for ages, guess it's time to finally go through that

You have been visited by the Ominous Skeletal Cosmic Spacefrog of Inquisition.

Good riffs and dismal knowledge of the Perpetual Astral Necrocosm will come to you, but ONLY if you "RAISE THE CHALICE"

yes, d-beating motorhead worship.
this too
youtube.com/watch?v=dsZYyS0PdHM

kill yourself idiot

okay I said what I wanted to say
let's hope no "true men" try to derail this thread again
youtu.be/M8qPZ3mKnQk

not an argument

oh duuude this is good! how haven't I heard of this?

I'll keep it quick and to the point so that you faggots don't get too butthurt:
Immortal > inquisition

this isn't debate club you fag

Daily reminder that trad/NWOBHM/glam and some forms of power/doom metal were never good as they ultimately only offer watered down takes on what the metal genre truly has to offer
youtu.be/0GaxpS9vosc
Same guy as Speedboozer but making music that actually has fun riffs instead of the utter bore that is Speedboozer.

cool story bro

fuck off to Sup Forums tripshit
I know of this, Amphetademons was better

...

I don't know user? these obscurer bands are not always that easy to find =P
and this maybe
youtube.com/watch?v=K4QMcydarFc
now i really need to go to bed, good night anons.

not an argument, try harder bro

More like this? I love the guitars on this.

...

newfag here. I listened to most albums of these bands
now what

Arghoslent really sounds fucking cheesy
They only got away with it because of lyrics and relatively raw and heavy sound
Same gay shit as all melodeath, just marginally less bad. fuck it

songs to play doom to?

listen to more shit

gore beyond necropsy and clotted symmetric sexual organ

Daily reminder that glam is the future of metal, but I doubt you virgins would care about anything but pseudo-macho growls and chugs

the ost

Most people agree though in terms of Pure Holocaust. That album's riff after riff. Inquisition has shit vocals and the riffs are repeated forever in overlong songs.
>Amphetademons was better
Better than Speedboozer yeah, but Misanthropunk has even more riffs.

>Reminder that none of this belongs in these threads
Heavy/traditional/80's metal, hard rock, rock or a combination of these. Many of so-called "heavy metal" band submissions ended up being rock, glam or even mallcore bands!
NWOBHM - a lot of 80's UK rock and AOR bands got lumped into the NWOBHM category, even if they weren't metal
Melodic metal - often another term for "hard rock"
Grindcore - Death/grind = OK. Noisegrind, crustcore, jazz/grind, heavy punk/hardcore, etc. = Not OK.
Metalcore - Be VERY wary. Most of these get rejected, simply because they're hardcore with some metal influences. That doesn't make a band metal!
Progressive/avant-garde - Could mean anything, really Also, there is a difference between prog rock and prog METAL. We've even had near-mallcore bands listed as such.
Gothic metal - some people confuse goth music, darkwave or Depeche Mode soundalikes, or Evanescence-like rock with gothic metal, for some reason (having a female vocalist does not mean you're gothic!).
Crossover - can have the same problem as metalcore, although they generally aren't rejected as often.
Stoner, sludge - same as progressive. There is stoner rock and there is stoner metal. There is sludge metal and there is post-hardcore. They are sometimes similar, but one is acceptable and the other isn't.
Industrial metal - if it sounds like Rammstein or Nine Inch Nails, forget it.
Shred/djent - varies from metal to borderline hard rock to jazzy rock to mindless noodling.
Ambient/depressive black metal - Some vague fuzz with shrieking does not equal black metal. Also applies to ambient droning noise with BM-type shrieking.
Groove metal - this is often an euphemism for mallcore (aka "nu-metal") or alternative rock. Pantera might be metal for the most part, but if their imitators just play tough-guy "jumpdafuckup" chugging, it's not going to fly.

Where do I go from Todbringer with Ellende?

>Reminder that none of this belongs in these threads

def check this chart. I'd advice to also listen to Unleashed in the East, Melissa, To Mega Therion, teutonic thrash (google if you don't know the term)

is this copypasta

the mantle

i said metal not indie folk

newfriend here

>future is female!
t. cares about pseudo-macho transvestites and falsettos

lmao this is just the Rules and Guidelines from Encyclopaedia Metallum. Also fuck off.

Wow, you seem fun at parties. Maybe instead of shitting on queerfolk get a girlfriend, lol.

their other albums
razor except custom killing
early megadeth

van canto?

THAT IMAGE FINALLY APPEARED AGAIN
I've had it stuck in my head for the last few months, and this general wouldn't answer when I told them to post it

youtube.com/watch?v=CAJdWPvaKV4

why you guys mad at melodeath?

How bout that new saxon album thunderbolt
I think it’s good

nice argument ladyboy

>listen to more of the artists/genres you like
>use rym

rateyourmusic.com/customchart?page=1&chart_type=top&type=album&year=alltime&genre_include=1&include_child_genres=1&genres=metal&include_child_genres_chk=1&include=both&origin_countries=&limit=none&countries=

to save time i would just listen to the first 2 tracks of an artist's highest rated album and/or most-rated and if you don't care much for it then move on to another artist.

Pure unfiltered autism

I care more about new AC/DC albums than about Saxon
I'd rather listen to worst Motorhead album than any Saxon

anything like this but with good vocals?
youtube.com/watch?v=k3UUAIsOhNg

Satan - Life Sentence
Enforcer - Destroyer

>Ominous Skeletal Cosmic Spacefrog of Inquisition.
youtube.com/watch?v=br5tyuEUBWE

RAISE THE CHALICE

Reminder that Megadeth killed thrash.

i need more scary antler man musc, it's so good

RAISE THE CHALICE

>i said metal not indie folk
Agalloch - The Mantle

If you let go off the internet elitism, it's actually a pretty good listen even if not in typical "muh riff" way.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DAILY FUCKING REMINDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that if you hate any of these:, alongside the likes of atmospheric black or post-metal. Hell, if you genuinely believe that metal peaked in the 90s and that the only good 21st century stuff is 90s style music, keep in mind that it isn't your own thought but the internet metal elitism you got exposed to. Thus you're just part of the hivemind who believes such only because you found other elitists who do so.

So where did such elitism start? With DLA/ANUS/DMU. Everybody makes fun of that site, but the fact is that they probably played the biggest part in turning the metal genre into one known for having groups of hivemind-like thoughts/opinions.

You can dress it up as memes like "tourists" or "nu male" but it's the same old arbitrary image based elitism that only makes art, something that requires an open mind to appreciate, into something far more narrowminded like some teenager.

i would rather motörheading d-beat worship

SAINT VITUS

what does /meal/ think of Arghoslent?

RAISE THE CHALICE

Bargain bin melodic DM that people will only listen to because it's raw thus that somehow makes it better from the otherwise very similar Gothenburg bands that the same people shit on.

Thanks for your reply

Can you recommend me something to listen to? open to any suggestions.

God-tier riffs

see above literally what this user said later

What do you want?

Catchy melodic death metal slightly akin to Arghoslent?
Unanimated - Ancient God Of Evil

Actually are heavily right wing but want a better band that pulls it off?
Kaevum - Natur

Melodic death metal I actually like?
Any of At The Gates' first three releases, I would recommend starting with Gardens Of Grief.

Actually good raw death metal?
Infester - To The Depths, In Degradation

this is pretty good

Yeah I like this a lot, their best one in recent years

Anything, didn't have to be death metal even just any metal YOU like.

I'll look those releases up on RYM and bookmark them, thanks!

Give me the most menacing, ominous DM/BM you know of

nah I just have my own taste

Sup Forums has been the only forum I've ever been to to talk about heavy metal. I'm not aware of any trneds, I'm not even aware of new albums.

youtube.com/watch?v=p3SlnJdnZUA

>implying Sup Forums isn't infested by that influence
>implying all other metal internet spots aren't either
You don't have to post to be exposed to it lmao.

How does an album like this end up being one of the highest rated among popular rating spots like Sputnik or RYM when it's so damn repetitive? Like almost all but like 10% of this album can be played on the same four frets (plus open note riffing.)

just stating my opinion, no need to get defensive. Sorry if came off cold

overrated

Here’s a higher quality image.

Because it's accessible and catchy enough to let tourists in
Same shit with Death and all melodeath
All these babbies get filtered hard when they hear any semblance of complexity

good stuff
weird how it's not better known

>when it's so damn repetitive?
are you kidding me? that's like the least repetitive of all the second wave bm albums

>the least repetitive of all the second wave bm albums
not much competition, and missing the point

>tfw used to listen to metal all the time but now I listen to hip-hop

So this is what growing up feels like

Any lovecraftian metal besides Altars of Madness?

...

Sure the album's structured closer to death metal so it "changes" its riffs more often than a lot of black metal, but it's sameness/repetition comes from essentially writing everything within just one area on the guitar. Easy to develop riffs when they are very samey (see the thrash example of this, Slayer's Reign In Blood.)

I remember being 16.

Dubs determine which album I must listen to.

serious question, I thought lmao means leave me alone

am I wrong?
